1. I was not with my BF as I don't have one (or a husband for that matter). That was nAz from CCB (also a childhood friend).

2. If we made eye contact several times it's because I probably thought that you were cute so next time, dear, introduce yourself! ;)

P.S. I think Ray Liotta is hot! :o

Hi, Joey. It was GREAT meeting you, too. I hope you had a great SBE experience. I know I sure did. Just think, it's going to happen all over again this coming August with a bar box tournament, 8-ball.

BTW, Joey, Keith and I were lucky and got a room right up the street at the Homestead Suites, and I think I will stay there again next time. Usually, I book a room well ahead of time, but this year, we weren't sure if and when we were going to the SBE.

The Homestead Suites facility was very clean, and each room had a full kitchen with a large refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishes, pots and pans. The beds were very comfortable, too. The location is perfect, only a quarter mile up the same street as the Valley Forge Conference Center. Shannon Daulton and his lady were staying at the same facility, and they were very pleased as well staying at the Homestead Suites.

I have stayed at the Scanticon and Radisson before, the lodging facilities on site at the VF Conference Center, and the rooms at the Scanticon are exquisite.

Did you and your friends buy anything at the expo? That's another favorite thing I like to do at the SBE, shopping for pool stuff. :p

We bought two beautiful high-quality collared shirts from the lady who had a vendor booth right on the first floor, next to Leonard Bludworth's booth. She has the 9-ball emblem on her clothing, and she's an artist too. She is a proud sponsor of a pool player named Morgan who won the ladies event at the SBE this year.

And though I try to watch what I eat on occasion (LOL), I couldn't help myself when it came down to those freshly made, deep-fried waffles sprinkled with sugar powder, and yes, I ate the whole thing.

The owner of the Hustlin Clothing USA brand came up to me and said he read a thread right here on AzBilliards that I made about a pro football player wearing one of his baseball caps, sporting the Hustlin brand on national primetime TV. He said that he works out with many of the California football pros, and they do enjoy wearing the Hustlin brand. He wanted to give me a small token of his appreciation and gifted me with a brand-new Hustlin Clothing USA brand hooded sweatshirt, which I really like.

Though the no-smoking venue on the lower level was a new feature at this year's SBE, there were several places close by for the smokers to catch a puff or two. I actually didn't mind the no smoking environment, as I am a smoker, and think this was a good move. Even the players who are used to smoking when competing stated that they didn't mind the no smoking one bit, as it made them smoke less, which in reality is a good thing.

Thanks to AzBilliards' Borodriver, he let me know that the late-Larry Lisciotti's son Lance was attending the SBE. Keith and I found Lance down on the lower level, seating the action pit games, and chatted a bit. He looks just like Larry. He has a twin sister and is in his early twenties. He competes locally, stating he's a "B player." He said it's tough being the son of a pool icon at times because folks think he's supposed to be playing at his dad's level, but he said he just enjoys playing pool. He was sweating the games in the action pit for quite a spell.

I was very pleased to meet you, Joey, and look forward to seeing you again on the tournament trail. You too, 9-Ball Girl! :)

LOL. :D I'm still a postin' and lurkin', depending on my state of mind. The stark reality of work always slaps me in the face when I return from one of these pool events. It takes me a couple days to recover, and then I have to catch up on my reading of the threads that transpired on the forum during my absence. :p

The Super Billiards Expo has become a definite stop on the American tournament trail. The venue offers a little something to everybody, with competitive events for players of all caliber. The Expo itself with the vendors is a major attraction. It's nice to be able to see the pool items up front and close. I didn't get a chance to check out the trick shot competition on the upper level, but I did speak to Hall of Famer Mike Massey who said he came in second place.

I learned a little bit about the competition from Mike. He shared with me that there is a book detailing 50-some-odd registered trick shots that each player studies beforehand, with each shot being worth a certain amount of points. I hope somebody who did attend this one can provide an update.

With so many things happening at the SBE, there's not enough time in the day to see each one. The Pro/Am 9-Ball tournament took up most of my time, Saturday and Sunday. A great win for Troy Frank, $3,000, bragging rights, and a huge trophy.

The trophy that Dennis Hatch won for the Pro 9-Ball event was a beautiful Waterford crystal vase which sits on top of a wooden stand. It must have cost several thousand dollars and is a very nice keepsake.

JAM, glad you found Lance and got to talk to him. I came down about 45 minutes after I told you he was there and couldn't find either of you.
