We heard a lot of threats about major tournaments going to be canceled during the Bonus Ball era. Have any major U.S. tournaments been canceled or rumors that one will be? After awhile when you cry wolf enough no one listens anymore. Johnnyt
 
Wait to see the damage to The Southern Classic and Ultimate 10 Ball. Will they be back? The Tour that Greg with Diamond was trying to get going with the Casino may never happen. So YES there was Damage to the industry!!
 
I don't believe that there was ever a bonus ball "era", just talk of one, so we may never really know.

Well Bonus Ball flamed out pretty early so it's hard to say how much it adversely impacted other tournaments. From what I've heard The Southern Classic definitely was impacted to some degree which may hurt future prospects. Let's hope that is not the case.

Well, I was at the Southern Classic last year and this year. A fair amount of Bonus Ball players weren't there this time around. I know that a handful stated it was because of Bonus Ball and the multiple trips/expenses for going back and forth across the country.

I also know some amateurs that didn't go, because they felt the numbers would be down, due to some of the pro's not being there.

While some might feel that this gave "shortstops" a better chance to step up and make themselves known, for many of us "lesser players", places like the Southern Classic are the only chance we get to play against pro-caliber competition.

While my long-term goal is to cash at an event like that......I want to cash when the field is as strong as possible.

With numbers being down, yes, this could absolutely negatively impact what Greg Sullivan and crew were trying to do with a mini-casino tour. At this point, most of what I hear is that it's in the hands of Harrah's, Inc. or whoever. Maybe Greg will address the AZ board at some point to let us know how it's all going to hash out.

Bonus ball and the actions some people took during the last few months have had an impact on things.

Believe it or don't. You will see.
 
Some things don't have an impact that can readily be seen.

My work, for instance. Insurance/ loss control. We keep things from having a negative impact on cash flow, or at least try to reduce the negative influence on it.

I can't say how much value this adds with an accurate number, but it is a valuable enough precaution that damn near every employer takes it.
