Need advice. Red or black.

I began to join a new cue, but now I can not decide what color to choose for the handle. At first I was thinking about black, very elegant. But now I doubt, the red is brighter and more contrast. What do you think. Thanks.

Large view. Forearm and sleeve.

Use whatever wood you used in the veneers and do something black in it to break it up.

You really could use either one and not be wrong.

Second that. (But then, I have a weakness for segmented handles anyway.)

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

If the red matches the veneers, then go with the red...if it's off even a little bit, I would go for the black...

Now see...I actually like the red...because it matches the veneers and help to 'pop' them, visually. JMHO.

Yep...that was my thought...but only if it's an "exact" match...otherwise it'll look "funky" (that's a technical term!). :p IMHO

Red or Black

I would not use the red, but might not use the black as well.

The black next to the black will be differentiated better if a Veneer was used to separate the blacks.

I would try some nicely figured brown wood. Walnut or burl.

Now for the main discussion- What exatly are we looking at relative to the number of points, recuts, etc. (I really like this combination.)

Thanks. That means black. This coincides with my first instinct. But I have a few more days, I'll think about ;).

Once again thanks you all for your opinion.

But still, if we talk not about black, but the red or reddish-brown hue. Which would you choose?
Black palm, Red palm, Amboina burl, Tulipwood, or something else. Zirikot for example, or Bloodwood etc.

I really like the combination with Black palm and Amboina burl also.

Thank you all. All PM replied. The handle is black. But now a new problem, I can not decide how to install the sleeve :banghead: :). Red points opposite bridges or points opposite points. I like the first option. And how for you?

1. - points opposite bridges

2. - points opposite points
