Need help with a purchase I made on AZ

I dont care who the seller or buyer is.

The only fair way is money back guarentee. Buyer can refuse but should pay shipping, so there wont be any "let me try it for free".

That's how I do it.

If someone is honest it is the only way.

The pic on the right confirms he said good condition and rolls straight. Pic on the left states there's nothing wrong with the cue? This guy cannot be serious and regardless if he's at the derby or not I've waited days already ,almost a week . I will not give him my phone # everything he wants to say I want proof of no more of his bs.

Are you afraid to call him because you might work it out? You can save all the messages you want, you have no recourse though. The phone still works in 2016 and at the end of the day it's still the best communication cause you can tell tone. Give it a shot, best of luck

Not afraid to call him. Or for him to call me . This is simple enough to send the cue back and refund my money plain and simple. Cue is not as described . He's not wanting to refund the money I'll call him and listen to excuses on why he shouldn't refund the money? You can clearly see he doesn't want to refund the money

Agreed I don't let people try it out and then ship it back if they don't like it. This is not the case. The cue is significantly different then what was described. If you sent me a cue that said fair condition and had a taper roll you would never here a word from me. I bought it on the sellers word that it was in good condition and rolls straight. In this case I'm not responsible for return shipping either. Example I have a bs cue tell you it's ok send it to you hoping you don't want to hassle with a return and keep it.

Golden Rules

Never buy a Cue unless you can see it in person.

Never order a custom cue.
NEVER gift a PayPal transaction.

The only thing "good" about that cue is that you can still put it together. I never got screwed on a deal here but I will also never "gift" a payment or ask for a "gifted" payment. When people do that it almost sounds like they are not being straight with you in the first place.

Steve lomax wouldn't even sell it new for $350! Call him next time would have saved s couple bucks. Is this also Marc who wants people to pay the service charge in the action room?

Mikey;

with all due respect, and you rate plenty, sir, if I rec'd that wobbly dinged up cue after being told it was in good, straight cond, I wouldn't want to keep it no matter what.

On principle.

best,

Yeah, the only way to "work it out" is to send a prepaid shipping label, a refund, and an apology.

Best of luck with getting your money refunded.........important lesson learned and others should heed.....

For less than $10 additional cost, Paypal buyer protection could have been & I apologize if that seems like a poke in the eye.

On the contrary, I bring that up to show how little it costs for buyer protection......never use the gift option for a purchase.

Could be worse.
id try do get him to commit to a refund in 30d, tops, including you getting the cue back to him by you.
http://youtu.be/qBa4RZieB0Y Video of the roll out. Rough video but does the job. Oh yeah! I couldn't believe when he asked me that. I'm trying to find a way to upload the PMs between us. He stated he had a buyer that he wanted me to ship to I declined and that's when he started with the whole he had a buyer and because i didn't ship to that buyer it would take him awhile to resell the cue and he couldn't refund me until he sold it. By the way I am taking down the for sale post and will not sell it until all repairs have been done or keep it. I'm just really upset if I get stuck with it that I will have over $350 invested in this jump cue. Thank you for all your replies

That cue is pretty well beat up for that price!

Complete POS....even in good condition 350 is ridiculous.

Where does $350 paid come into the picture? See the OP's post of what he paid ($235 shipped) here: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=5431798&postcount=17

I think the OP was saying that if he had to have it refinished he would be in it for $350. How things turn into fact is pretty amusing.

Marc is a friend of mine, but I agree that this cue does not match the description - that is between you two. I have never had an issue with anything Marc has sold me or others that I am aware of, but his may be the exception. Marc is at DCC or on his way so I suggest you bring this up to him again when he returns.

Good luck to all.

Dave (still think $235 is a good price for a lomax j/b if function is what you are looking for, if I was looking for a j/b I may have bought it to put this to bed, but I am not)

Thank you. I only sent the payment as gift due to his itrader being high I thought he was good business. I have it listed in the for sale forum with the correct description of the cue . Marc is unresponsive now and I think the chances he will refund me is slim to none. Thanks for the kind words Brain. Looking forward to do business with you in the future

Call Paypal. Tell them the gift was a mistake. Say the seller insisted the sale to be listed as a gift. (if you never paid by gift before). Tell them it was suppose to be a merchandise purchase. Explain the description and received condition and you want to return for full refund. If nothing more it will damage the sellers Paypal credibility. Paypal has it's rules.

I dont agree with that for anything but a last resort.
you are right: payPal has its rules. That can also work against the buyer.
Also, if he plays that card then the seller is unlikely to do anything for him... At least until PayPal issues a verdict.
At it is now, yheres a chance vidal makes it right.

Don't involve PayPal yet, wait until Marc replies on this thread and give him a reasonable window to do it. Hopefully he will see the error of his ways after reading this thread, or at least throws some new sand in the box.

Good grief. When you send PayPal $ using the gift option, you forfeit any dispute rights. Read the agreement disclosure you agreed to when you signed up. They are not going to change the rules for anyone that says it was a "mistake". NEVER use the gift option unless it's a GIFT or donation. (Or if you can trust family members who need $$$$......)
