I got an old Instroke butterfly and I need a new insert put in it. I've tried contacting John and Karen at JB cases but no response. Chuck Fields has no interest in doing it. I've contacted Gil Castillo. Can anyone recommend anything? Would like to get it done asap.

I ordered an insert from JB cases months ago for a 1x2 case I had. I still haven't seen it or heard from anyone there, even after following up. Good luck with your search though.

JB can be contacted via email and facebook...

John asked someone to let you know that he can be contacted via facebook and email for any questions regarding products...

Welcome to the club. He took two of my orders and they never were made. His brand makes a quality product, but customer service is the worst and he knows it.

Edit -

JB is making it right. He found my order and it's being made. It's difficult to have perfect customer service when you get the volume of orders out of a small shop, so no hard feelings.

I would have liked to have had Chuck Fields do it. Quality work and he's in the USA. We'll see I guess.

I've just been in contact with John via facebook. Sounds like my order should be sorted out soon. Thanks for the info to the facebook page, I wouldn't have thought of that! John's response was very quick when I sent him a message.

John sent me a message as well. He found one of my orders, but not the other. If I'm still able to get my order completed, I would use the hell out of the case. I've owned a rugged before and it was quality, although not exactly what I needed at the time.

I'm currently using a 2x4 instroke, but times change and even now the instroke is not what I need.

Yeah Karen contacted me. I'm not sure if we're on the same page but at least she's responding. I'm wanting to get the interior of my Instroke butterfly 3x6 changed to a JB ultrapad. I'm being quoted $320. I don't know if I'm not stating what I want or what. Either way I'm glad for the fast responses and I'm glad you guys are getting sorted out.

If memory serves, a Brand New JB Butterfly Case can be had
for $280.00 (shipped) in the W/FS Section ? I also could be Nuts !

If I had the money I would. I got the Instroke on trade hoping to upgrade it. Looks like I screwed myself. Oh well.

I have an original Instroke case.
Why don't you just send it to them?
I've never had any problems.

I didnt want to say that, thats why I left it kind of vague and just said I wasnt interested. Retrofitting a case like that is not a simple task. Its one thing to make a minor repair, its another to have to completely disassemble the case, make a pattern for the new interior, build the new interior then reassemble. About the only thing you are saving other than the exterior material cost compared to building a new case is the time it takes to cut out the exterior and sew the pockets on. Several hours of work plus materials adds up fast, and Karens quote is probably pretty accurate from an hourly rate standpoint.
I dont know Johns pricing, but if the new butterfly case at 280 is accurate, that would be the way to go, then resell the instroke.
Chuck
