Need to change my tip, looking for a brand to try!

I like triangle

no one mentioned it,but i like them the best

of course i am an average player

Why do they intentionnally shave it down?

Mine has like 1 full layer left plus the round part of the tip. I kinda like it better when shaved down and it looks better :)

Ideally, when installing a new tip, how many layer do you leave on?

A soft tip usually has a bit more "grip" than a harder tip. If you shave it down some it still will maintain some of its grippiness, but it the feel of the tip and the action will hit a bit harder because it is thinner and closer to the ferrule and shaft.

It is the same reason a lot of people like their tips better once they are worn down and broken in.

Do we know what the top pro uses the most?
Earl
Shaw
Morra
SVB
Orcolluo
Ko Brothers
Pagulayan
Appleton
Deschaine

?

listen dude, don't go by what the pro's use because they will play with whatever they are sponsoring by, to answer your question i'll tell you.

Earl - Elk Master (Not sponsor he likes it)
Shaw - Kamui black medium (Sponsor)
Morra - No clue
SVB - Kamui brown medium (Sponsor)
Orcolluo - Sniper tip (Sponsor)
Ko Brothers - No clue maybe g2?
Pagulayan - No clue, but I saw Kamui tag on his shirt, so maybe kamui?
Appleton - Kamui (Sponsor)
Deschaine - Used to be predator because (Sponsor) then he left predator now he uses Zan tips and he likes it (Not sponsor by Zan as far as I know)

To sum this up, i'm not saying that the tip is bad if theyre sponsor, it just so it doesn't affect your choice because it's not usually their choice of tip, they didn't pick it up, the company picked them.

For me I think Ive tried so many tips, and for me I really like the Sniper tips, they are amazing for me, and if I need an alternative that feels almost like sniper, i'll go with Zan medium.

Finally ordered the Ki-Tech sample package with all 5 hardness and the hammerhead tip for breaking!

Doesn't mean I won't try other in the futur though

:)

I LOVED the feeling of the softer Ki-Tech tips, but they really are a pain to install. In fact, the 4 I installed have poped up within 2 weeks.

I'm far from an expert tip installer, although I have a lathe, but I never had other tips, except the very first one I installed pop up.

The harder (medium and harder) were all Ok though.

I ordered Ultraskin tip (10) and paid using paypal, he refunded me saying it was for US only :( (I'm in canada, I doubt the shipping would be much higher!)

Contact Cuejo's Customs. He's on FB. If you need his contact info, send me a message. He's in Canada, and is a dealer for Tom.

Triangle Tips also. Old school and cheap.

price has doubled in the past 15 years or so tho....and i have been hearing that the new ones are not as good.....and i have some old stock 15mm in both lepro and triangle....but can not find them for sale......wont be installing them for anyone but myself anymore i guess....have they gone the way of cortland number 9?

sad sad day

G2 soft. The only tip to buy.. I have them on all my cues and I've tried others. The G2 tips are consistent and long lasting. Rarely do they mushroom and have excelent value.
