missing from the video and what I would be most interested in seeing if I were the seller would be:

1. just the shaft rolling on the table by itself. (it was orig described by Jamie as having a roll)

2. just the butt rolling by itself (it was described by the buyer as having a warp - Jamie says it was fine when it shipped, in fact he says it was spinning straight on a lathe).

3. both the butt and shaft screwed together video the entire cue rolling, not just the tip half of the shaft.

imo, if there is a warpage problem with the cue, the buyer should still work it out with Jamie. and also work out the iTrader issue.

Negative came premature. There should have been more communication.

Cue should be returned for refund.

I don't post a lot on this forum but I couldn't stop myself from commenting on this thread after reading through all the posts.

I see fault on both parties here, once an agreement was settled on, there was a lack of communication on both ends.

We as a community should embrace the new members on this site while also protecting ourselves as I have seen enough threads about members being ripped off.

There is no doubt there is a "Good ol' boy" system that happens on this site and it makes it hard for newer members to get a fair shake on these types of situations.

I think we need to remember that most newer members are going to be the younger guys joining our community and probably haven't developed the experience that us older guys have.

While the $500 purchase to Jamie may seem like a small transaction it might be a huge purchase to the buyer.

In the end I just hope you guys can start the communication back up and get this settled where both parties are happy with the result.

Instead of contacting me and trying to further resolve the situation, he acts on his own again without any communication. I am not going to go through the hassle of a Paypal dispute, it is not worth my time even though I feel I made the right decision. All I did was ask if I deserved negative feedback, I never mentioned his name.

But heck, while we're at it... his profile states the following:

Not like he has any way to get a cue shipped back quickly...

I have no dog in this fight. In fact I hear many good things about you from friends. But, from reading your posts....Especially last one about trying to act so innocent - Oh, I did not throw my weight around, all I did was ask a question....
I am sorry but, that is just so......sleazy. CAN NOT FIND BETTER TERM.
You knew very well what kind of response this would get, you understood better than anybody where this "innocent' post will go.
You never mentioned his name huh? Let me see.......HMM......The only negative feedback you received....HMM...I am afraid nobody will ever figure out who the guy is.....It is so difficult.
And as I said before, you are so good and honest, and well known, and such a huge name in cue world....And you are fighting over lousy few hundred bucks???!!!
That is just to low for such a huge and honest dealer.
And us, small timers would just refund and get it over with.
I guess cue business is not THAT profitable if you are having difficulties refunding money for a warped cue.
And it doesn't matter if butt or shaft is warped. You saw clearly on the video that tip lifts from the table. And not by tiny bit.
If that was me, believe me, you would refund shipping both ways.
But again, I am sure, your "good ol boys club" will defend you until the last breath.
The fact is still a fact - you sent a warped cue and refused to refund.
That is my opinion.
Now, I am sure your buddies will come and bash my post. And I may even get some red rep. But, HELL, I always say it how it is. ANd I will repeat same things in anyone's face.

How do you know it was a warped cue? I stated the shaft had a roll. He confirmed in his PM that he knew the shaft had a roll... he was claiming the butt was warped. I rolled the cue, had it on a lathe and saw it with my own eyes. That is what I am defending. Who knows... maybe the pin was bent during shipping. If that was the case, he could have simply returned the cue right away. But why wait a week? You can assume the cue is warped, I can assume something may have happened to the cue during that week.

Buyer posted video and I am sure he will post more videos soon.
As for pin or cue being damaged in shipping....HMM.....Such a big and experienced dealer ships the cue without good protection? I find that hard to believe, I am sorry.

It very well could be a miscommunication between two of you but, the way you handled it.......
Yes, negative iTrader was uncalled for but, again, he asked for a refund. And yes, he took a week. Did you by any chance ask him if everything was ok and why did he not send a cue back?

He may have had a family emergency that prevented him from responding.

He told you immediately that the cue was warped.. then 1 week later he agreed to a refund.

Seems like that is a reasonable timeline for him to respond to you.

If you sold him a cue that was warped then he owe it to him to refund the monies even if it has been 1 week.

I had a similar thing happen recently and I refunded the money even though I KNEW the cue was straight because I spun in a lathe before sending.

If the buyer isn't computer literate the offer of refund could have even gone to his junk folder and he may have been thinking you were ignoring him. I've been known to be waiting days for important E-mails sitting in my junk folder and I know better. It's just too hard to know for sure what's going on at the other end in E commerce/real life combos. 7 days in not unreasonable enough to butt heads over and risk the very situation you're upset about now. If I were you I would still take it back today, even after the bad feedback. That way if you ask Mike to remove it you have a solid case, not just he said she said.

The guy got his refund. So I am now out the refund and the cue. Hopefully he goes ahead and ships the cue this time. Hopefully he is indeed an honest person and doesn't do anything to the cue before shipping it back.

Well, from a repair point of view and having the cue in my hand to review, it is clear, the original owner didn't know what he purchased. This is a Dominiak cue, but it has significant issues with it. This is what I found:

The radial pin was not installed properly. It sticks out 1/4" too far causing the shaft to be modified to fit eliminating ANY other shaft from fitting without modifications.

It appears to be an older Dominiak cue based on the different logo and no D2 on the shaft.

The glued seam between the handle wood and the forearm appears to be failing based on the fact the clear coat has cracked along that seam.

The shaft was badly warped. No question this cue has seen a better day.

As much as people enjoy their positive feedback, I believe it's as important to be forthcoming in the description of the products they sell here.

Oh great... another newbie expert has jumped into the fray. Some finish lift and all of a sudden the glue seems are failing. With that kind of logic there are a ton of "failing" cues out there.

The refund has been made... please send the cue back and stop the insanity.

Jamie, I was asked my opinion after seeing the cue directly. Sorry you don't like my take on the cue as I haven't read a single post on this subject so I really have no opinion about who did what.

But now that you chose to use name calling to support your case by calling me a "newbie", I guess I will make a note to never purchase from you. Thanks for the heads up!
