New Book By AZ'er: "Bangkok Pool Blues"

Come On Over!

Cant wait to get back there next fall with my son and wife to show them what a pretty place Thailand is.

Shawn,

If I am there at the time, I'll be happy to give you a tour of the pool scene.

Other AZ'ers in town include thaitom (author of this book), Monto P2, and sugeknight. All are good guys who would probably like to meet you.

AZ'er gobrian77 has a resort on Koh Samui if you can make it down there. I have been, and he is a fantastic host.

PS: Will you be at Magoo's on Thursday night? I'll be there.

Isbn?

What is the book's ISBN?

I can't answer that question because I have forwarded my copy to a friend. Hopefully thaitom can answer.

I do know that right now there is no US distribution. I am trying to help Tom get US distribution through either Mueller's or BeBob publishing.

At this point it is only available in the US by ordering from the Thai publisher online at www.mettavisions.com

The book is $12.00 and S&H is $12.00. My copy arrived quickly.

signed copies of Bangkok Pool blues

for the AZers who want signed copies of the book it can be done. After you order on line from www.mettavisions.com just send an e-mail to info@mettavisions.com saying you want the book signed. It will be done. Thanks to cuaba, monto and others for all the support. Enjoy the book. I hope to see all of you out here in Thailand playing at the Super Cue.

Brad go with Bebob if you can! They are great people there...

Book will be ordered today! What's the baht rate there now anyways?

The Jackal has always had fun in Thailand ;-)

I am friends with Bob and Rory. I have had good dealings with both of them.

The Baht right now is about 32.6. I liked it better 10+ years ago at 45.

I'll be back in less than 2 weeks, and I always have fun too.

Hey Rayjay, we got your e-mail and order. I will be meeting with the publishers sales guy later today (Bangkok time) to sign as you asked.
Appreciate the order and hope you enjoy.

For Todd Riley, the ISBN is 978 616 90514-0-4

Cheers,

Got the book as promised...thanks! I've read about 50 pages so far and I like it a lot! I get a genuine feeling of the pool scene in Bangkok and how different it is here in good old Albuquerque...that's about as close as I'm ever going to come to playing in Asia, much as I'd like to experience all that is revealed. I would recommend this book to anyone on this forum as a truly unique read, well written and easy to visualize with lots of photos to help me imagine I'm there. Thanks again!!
:p

I got the book) Bangkok Pool Blues) about three weeks ago and read it cover to cover twice. Very good writer, very good book, and tells you ALL about the pool scene over there. I rate it 5 *****'s. Thank you for letting us know about this book. Johnnyt

Glad you guys liked the book. Maybe it will inspire you to visit sometime? I'd be happy to show you around.

I'll be giving gobrian77 a tour of the red shirt protests today. Should have some good pics on here in a few days.

Here is Sugeknight, myself and Thaitom at a 9-ball tourney at Hustlers in Bangkok on Sunday. Sugeknight got an autographed copy of the book from Thaitom (author Tom Crowley.)

Where is Super Cue? I left bkk a couple of years ago - is it new?

Super Cue is on the second floor of Union Tower which is on Phetburi Road close to Thong Lor.

It just opened earlier this year.

Good Pic

Hey Cuaba, thanks for posting the pic. I understand you came second in the tournament. Good shooting..

Regarding the book , the feedback from players and non players has been really good. I am talking with Bob at Bebob and hope to have the books for US distribution in his hands in ten days or so.

Let me know when you will be back through Bangkok. We have Effren Reyes, Bustamante and a number of Philippino, Taiwan and Euro pros coming for a three day shoot out against our local talent Oct 1 to 3. I will give you a report.

Thanks Tom!

Shoulda won it. But I ran outta gas in the final.

Bebob should do well with your books. He told me he enjoyed it, especially since he is about your age and was in Viet Nam at the same time. I'd love to bring him over some time.

I hate missing that tourney. But after spending three of the last five months in Bangkok, I just can't warrant going back again next month.

But you know me, anythings possible?
