Not really my 2nd cue but its the second one being built using ts&p's lathe with a few mods.

(Warning: don't let your girlfriend walk in so you jump and put your hand in a spinning chuck...your fingers will be mad at you):angry::wink:

One Piece brunswick cue Rosewood 4 pt

3/8x10 SS pin

Brazilian Rosewood joint rings

Brazilian Rosewood Buttsleeve

Modified conical taper on shaft (nice tight grain on it too, was very happy to be able to save it)

Balance 18" (should be 18.5 completed)

should weight in somewhere around 19oz after the finish

should be finishing up the joint today and making a final pass then starting the finish process....sorry didn't take any pics earlier its goofey taking them with a laptop lol (i swear i have everything BUT a camera lol)

I poped a few balls with it and its got a very nice hit, just what you expect from those old cues, not to mention one with a sweet old shaft to match it.

its not scotch tape....its Irish packing tape from 1963 its like heat shrink (its really rare and you wont be able to find it)....I'm going to wrap the cue in it and melt it on for the finish....its toasted like Quiznos

you should see what happened the first time I tried to use it.....

thanks for the compliment Al, she's getting close to finished. I need to get some HD pics of it once finished as the rosewood in the handle is more of a orange"ish" red and then turns more purple red into the points.....the original one piece had a wrap on it and the wood "aged" differiently its really cool and sort of reminds me of the sunbursts you find on guitars. That was my whole reason to leave it a wrapless because of that fade it had going on......I've seen old american cherry in furniture do that but never in a pool cue.

tomorrow I'll be doing some fine final sanding to get some scratches out and I'll be applying the finish.

I was selling the cue b/c the buyer backed out....thankfully so, with the way the wood has the sunbust fade and sweet hit....i had shot a few balls with it and got HUKD lol

So no the cue is currently not for sale..... I am taking off the joint and adding the rings to it which i think is going to take it up another notch....

After the spill fiasco i got back to work around a month ago and have been hitting it hard, which made me put aside playing and finishing this cue.

in the next couple months when I get around to it im going to add some more dots in the buttsleeve.

I should have it re-refinished with the rings in the next few days and will post some pics of that.

Its basically going to be my daily player and show cue for when I'm out and about.

I have a few other old good house cues around and some of that brazilian rosewood if anyone would be interested in me doing something similar with some nice rings. Also got a really nice oversized piece of birdseye maple with some curl in it.
