Ever since I got a bit older and put on some weight I stopped going to strip clubs for the same exact reason.
 
Ok guys,

I spoke with the GM at Jillian's and we are tentatively a go for the last weekend in August. So it will be Friday August 30th through Sunday September 1st.

I still have to present it to the club in writing as to what we would like and what they can expect.

Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for a new thread with all the details once they are ironed out. Of course, I welcome any and all ideas to help make the event better.
 
Bob Hunt is up in that area somewhere, if anyone here sees him from time to time, please let him know that his good friend from Baltimore (Gibson) had passed away a few months back, Bob mite know and he just mite not know, the last i heard Bob and Gibson was not on talking terms, but at one time they were best friends, Bob Hunt was a awesom 9ball player up there in New England for a very long time , plus a hell of a person!

Don't know how I missed this Fred :confused: I was scheduled to fly down Thursday morning the day before the tourney and we were hit with that nor'easter Wednesday night into Thursday morning and my flight was cancelled. By the time they opened the runways back up I couldn't get a flight till Friday. I would have had to spend an extra $1000 on airfare as well as forfeit my 1st match. I decided to stay home and I bought a new big screen with the money I saved :grin: There's always next year. Sorry I missed you :hug: :D

I would be very interested to go to this providing I have no scheduling conflict...

and if someone could pick me up and get me there.

and drive me home after.

maybe get me a beer or two while there (domestic would be okay).

perhaps a little food.

I'm definitely gonna need a spot.

and I wouldn't say no to someone offering to let me use a cube of kamui chalk - I prefer the most recent version, 2.0 or whatever they call it.

I feel confident that my attending such an even would add tremendously to it. :smile:

Y'all sound like a nice bunch of folks. I hope I can make it down there from BTV. At that point in the summer, I will (hopefully) be the proud papa of a ten-week-old, so who knows what my availability will be like then.

I have approached the manager of a large room in central Massachusetts about having one and they were intrigued by the idea but wanted to know specifics so I'm looking to see how much interest there is. The room has 24 GC III 3's as well as a good restaurant. There are also plenty of hotels in the area if anyone would like to spend the weekend.

The idea is the room would be open to all members of the AZ community and their friends. There would be a main open tournament, as well as a second chance tournament, and a separate tournament just for lower handicap players. There will also be plenty of space for dealers and cue makers to show their cues/products. There would be little to no charge for the venders.

If you have any interest in attending please post in this thread so I can get an idea of how many people would like to attend.

I'm interested, but there could always be a work conflict or a wifely approval conflict at the last minute. "You're going to play pool AGAIN? I thought you played last year."

Though it'd take folks away from AzB temporarily, Meetup is a great site for organizing events once the time & place are set.

It could help new visitors to this thread to see the latest status update as an edit in your very first post for this thread. Oftentimes the latest event update in a thread can get buried by replies.
 
Been to one at Pool Table Magic and it was a good time. I'd be interested if another one gets organized in New England.

I amnin anyway...if it still matters...
(I know Patrick, Tom, Mike, Cleiton, Lazar ...we used to play together in Ayer...). Amazin Billiards is a new place and they have nice tablea...but no food and no space at all....for such a meeting I mean...

I just ran into monstermash a few days ago in Jillians. Place still has the worst tables in the new england area LOL.

We should just head to Ayer or Snookers, probably best atmospheres in those two to hang out in if there is a thing.
