New Event

Here is our field for this event. First, our eight filipino players - Dennis, Lee Vann, Francisco, Efren, Warren, Carlo, Jose and Santos. Our four foreign players - Niels, Darren, Thorsten and Mika. Our four American players - Shane, Oscar, Rob and John Morra. If we need an alternate(s), they will come from this group - John Schmidt, Brandon Shuff, Justin Bergman or Dennis Hatch.

My goal is to create two of these similar West Coast events each year.

Awesome Jay !!! Can't wait for this to go off big time. I will be there.

BAM. What a powerful group. Good luck with this and thank you Jay for putting this together. Johnnyt

Jay, I haven't received my invite yet, did it get lost in the mail?

Rodney Morris is the 2013 US Open 10 ball champion. Did you ever consider him?

YES, there was no player that wasn't considered for this inaugural event. If there is a second event some of them may replace a couple of these players. ONCE AGAIN, eight of the sixteen spots went to Filipinos!

Yes I understand the requirement of 8 Filipinos. What I dont get is why 4 slots went to 4 FOREIGN players which make it virtually 12 foreigners and only 4 Americans.
(Im counting Morra as one as Canada is a part of North America.)
Of course this is your event and you run it as you see fit.
But I really would like to see more Americans have access to the competition and the prize pool.

Thank you, I wanted the field to be as international (and as strong) as possible. And the four foreigners are among the best players in the world! Jayson Shaw would have been my next choice here.

I must be psychic because I just heard from Niels that he will be unable to make it for this event. He will be replaced by Jayson Shaw. I do want to have four international players in the field if at all possible.

More good news. Philippine television channel GMA has agreed to televise this event. It will be aired locally in Los Angeles and also via tape delay in the Philippines. They will be televising all fifteen matches. It is GMA 7 in the Philippines and GMA-TV in Los Angeles on the local cable networks.

We will also have live stream coverage of all the matches simultaneously, so for those of you unable to attend you will be able to watch every match.
