Hello 14.1 Enthusiasts and Friends ~

CSI head guy, my boss Mark Griffin, who is a long time lover of 14.1 decided that for 2011 we will add a cool 14.1 contest into the BCAPL Nationals in May. :)

We will have more information coming up soon on our websites (www.playbca.com and www.playcsipool.com) however below are the basics. All sign-ups will be taken on site at the Riviera Hotel & Casino.

We wish to thank Charlie Eames and Steve Kurtz for their help and guidance in this new addition to the best 10 days of pool!

Two Divisions: Amateur and Professional
Particiation / Entry Fee: TBD (it will be between $20-$30)

Format:
1. Each player will have 5 turns at the table
2. All legally pocketed balls will count towards your tally
3. Each player will have ball in hand and choice of break ball location
4. Remaining 14 balls will be racked with the head ball of course missing as it will be the break ball
5. Cash and prizes will be awarded and we will have several categories in which your scores will be considered, i.e: daily high run, highest single run, female high run, seniors high run...of course we may have more as that is still under discussion.

Equipment: 9' Diamond Pro-Am Table, Simonis 360 Tour Blue, Aramith Super Pros, Red Circle Cue Ball

This fun :) event will also be streamed on a large, elevated monitor at the Riveria so more peeps can enjoy the activity.

To whom it may concern aka the 14.1 forum. It has been a pleasure and an honor to lend my knowledge of event planning and logistics to Mark Griffin, Holly, and all of CSI to help promote the sport of straight pool. When Mark got in touch with me I jumped at the chance to work with him and CSI and could not think of anyone better to undertake such an endeavour.

I can't wait to see the turn out for this event. Guys if you get the chance definitely head out to this event its going to be fantastic.

Charlie,
I find it hard not to notice that you haven't tried to set up a lagging contest at any of these events.

If you guys need any help with the stream, commentary, or with post production on any videos, you have my number. I work for cheeseburgers. Pass it on.

BCAPL Nationals High Run Contest

It's great and exciting to see growth in events taking place that offer straight pool exposure to not only pool veterans, but particularly to the uninitiated, 9-ball or 8-ball only, players! Hats off and congratulations to Mark, Holly and CSI for their efforts!

Holly: This is great. More 14.1 everywhere. The word is out.
You were smart to get in touch with Charlie and Steve who created their own event out of whole cloth, which event threatens to get bigger and better every year.

Holly, Mark, & Team CSI.

It was great to hear from Mark, and i am very eager to help out in anyway that i can. All of you guys shed a positive light on the game, and what a better way than to do it with a Noble game such as 14.1

I gave Mark my phone number, feel free to call me at any time. Like i said, i would love to compare notes and make all of our events Bigger and Better along with the game to bring it right back to the forefront where it belongs !

Your Friend !
-Steve
