New member....pool room...and maybe some help

New member...trolled for awhile...1st post. I have saw numerous posts about showing off pool rooms and I would like to share mine. Many years of dreaming have finally worked out. I have never played great, but have always loved the game. Now that I have a table I would like to progress in my game. This is where the possible help come in. My table is at my cabin and I work out of town so my practice schedule is somewhat limited. My current practice routine consists of playing a lot of 8-ball with anyone that is available, which most are just bangers that aren't concerned with their game progressing. Then my alone practice (which is most of the time), I have currently been on the Dr. Dave's BU exams, also have Phil Capelle's practice book that I do occasional drills from. I also play ghost 6 ball and, as of late, really enjoy playing bowlliards. Any advice would be very much appreciated on streamlining my progress.

Would you mind if I hole up at your cabin for a few months until the corona virus blows over?

I am out of town 6-10 days at a time. When home, I generally get 2-3 days to practice and the hours vary from a few hours at a time to sometimes all nighters.

You could take a cue with you, those little tiny round circle stickers(with the hole in the center), and a couple balls(they sit on top of the stickers, if you are practicing at a kitchen table, don't want the balls rolling off, work on alignment and stroke when out of town, setup with camcorder or your phone, or in front of the mirror, work on preshot routines. Read books from some the greats, and take notes on what you would like to try when you get home. I am not an instructor, but those are all things I have done.

Also, when out of town, stretching exercises and working out(if you don't have a physically demanding job already).

Can ask the same question in the "ask an instructor" sub forum, might get some better advice.

Nice room.
Nice pool table
Awesome bar.
I play good enough to teach you but it would be short with that bar.
Got any Bourbon?
Took another look.
I saw a bottle of Makers Mark.
I need directions.

Awesome room!
Number 1, have fun and make it fun for any kids that come by.
You are doing what it takes to be a very fine player already, with your study material, it just takes time! Welcome to the forum

WOW! You did a great job. If you did that yourself you are a master carpenter. I love the way everything flows together, even the table is a perfect fit. Well thought out and even better executed! :grinning-moose:
One little tip - Practice running out with only three balls on the table (7, 8 & 9). Just throw them out there at random. When you can do that consistently, add one ball (6, 7, 8 & 9). Keep adding a ball until you can run nine balls (1-9) in rotation. That should keep you busy for the next year or two!

Sweet looking set up!

Just a little side note, could you possibly mean you have been "lurking" and not "trolling"?

I don't know, I think you need 5 or 6 more dead animals crowding the place.

sweet little set up though with the bar.
