I guess you could say a new old dog. Used to play quite a bit long ago, but suffered a bad back injury and thought I'd never play again. But, at 45, it seems I have recovered some of the lost use and can at least shoot again. But I long since sold my old Meucci(before they moved into the factory) and now am looking for a cue. I already know what I'm getting to start with, so you wont hear me asking for brand, model, price advise. So here is my question:
What exactly do you look for in the butt section of your cues?
I ask this because so many people change out the shaft for a better one, I'm wondering how important is the inlays, wrap, no wrap, linen, leather, etc, etc. to determine if you buy it. I realize balance plays a major roll and maybe the ability to change the weight, but does the look play an equal or bigger roll in the choice?
Anyway, I really like the forum and so far the folks whose posts I've read so far. I'll apologize now for my future inane posts, you can count on me to go straight for the dry sarcastic punch lines, but I promise that I will never try to insult or overly offend anyone.
Thanks y'all,
Karma
