New personal high run!!

I ran 43 last night (my old high was 42). I made the break ball in the 4th rack, but got stuck in the rack. I left myself a little straight on the breakshot and probably went for a little more than was there. I tried a kickshot to keep it alive, but the ball hung.

Since getting help from some of you with my breakshot question, I've had much more success getting in and out of the rack with a shot. I'm sure my patterns still need work, but one thing at a time.

Now that I'm getting back into pool (new baby), I'm really looking forward to hitting 50. Onward and upward.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Nice job! Keep working, and you'll get the 50 soon.

By coincidence, I had a 43 in my League match last night too. I overran position on my key ball and left a long tough, almost straight break shot which I made, but did not manage to hit the corner ball, and got stuck.

Congratulations

Getting a good break angle and pocketing the ball and getting off the rack are all definitley critical.

Keep working

68... and i never play straight pool anymore. no action

about 7 yrs ago when i started to play srtaight i played 600 pts a day but when i started to get really good i just played 9 ball. no action is straight where im from

i didnt play for about 4 yrs then ran 54 in my first match of a tourney. im get in the 50's often but its hard bc our matches are only to 100 not 150

Congrats on the 43. It's fun to improve... and you will every time you play, IF you are playing seriously.

That's awesome! I'm just getting into straight pool and those high run mile-markers sure add to the excitment and motivation for the game. Keep up the good work and make sure you post when you hit 50. No looking back from here.
