Keith was speaking to Ricky B the other day on the cell phone, and I heard him say to Ricky, "I think I can get a little bit easier action than Carrot Top, Ricky," and then he laughed. :p

Who's Carrot Top?

JAM

I think it's Nick Varner ???

Oregon - Bill Cress and he's blind in one eye.

Let me know when he's blind in the other eye too and I'll try him some, if he gives me 10-5.

Doug
(and I'll bet it up................providing he has no coach) :)

Billy or Mark the Snake from Oakland.

Anyone that beat Efren has to be counted. Mark plays great too.

tang (from CA) beat efren one year at the dcc.

While I don't doubt your factoid, I still think Parica has a strong advantage in 1 pocket versus Tang.

Though Tang practices with Efren - Parica is more consistant for the money.

Billy Bob plays a mean game of one-pocket. I played him a few games just last month and he whooped me, which was to be expected. But Mike came up and played at the same time and once he got comfortable, he was pulling out some of his magic shots again. Atwell was there as well.

Billy hung out with Jimmy Mataya growing up. Mike brought Bill up to Platisville many years ago, got him cleaned up and playing again, and they were partners for many years. The both of them taught Todd, JD and Timmy as they were coming up and all of them got in the box against Harry. Occasionally, Monk (Warren Costanza) would come up and stay and play too. Those were the good old days!

Knowledge and execution are probably even for Mike and Bill, but Mike, having a background in 3 cushion, pulls out some of the wildest banks and I think he has a better cueball and safeties.

Down here in Texas I think it is Jeremy Jones hands down and then probably Sylver Ochoa. Joey Barnes has been playing real well lately and then there is Bill Incordona who could care less about pecking orders and after that maybe David Henson of Austin. These though are quite a distance from the rest.
its good to hear that Joey is playing well. What kind of matching up has he been doing lately? He is after all my second favorite player next the The Pearl

to add to the pot. i believe there are several people that is coming up.
Washington players to recognize

Randy C.
Don Wirtaman
Ed hobbs
Leonard
Ken philippe

they will surely give you a run for your money

I was lucky enough to see alot of those times Approx. '88-'91. Actually the trio of Z, Todd and Jimmy rodgers were known as the 3 headed monster. 3 players....1 Bankroll....All action. Later when Jimmy headed to vegas to deal, Billy slid into his spot and it was all good. Trips to portland for the sewickly tourneys were entertaing as well. Or at least i heard. I was only 19-20 at the time and had no Fake I.....err falsified identification at that time so I had to settle for playing in the Oregon state junior championships at Tommy T's in beaverton (1st. place 89 and 90 i humbly add:thumbup: Darin walding runner up 1 of those years) Glad to hear bill is doing better now. I never had the guts to call Warren "Chipmonk" but mike did and would:eek: Tell Z the "Kid from Harry P Cues" says hello. Thanks linda

Hey Jason,

You play killer! Are you winning anything where you live now? I would think you would be a top player anywhere. I didn't know about the jr. champs, but belated congratulations anyway!

Back then, I was married to someone else and was the queen of bar pool. In fact, I played on a league for Harry P Cues and never looked at any of the guys down in the pit, except to go to the bathroom which was right next to it. Oh, the money changing hands back then! Me and Pete Cundy would be having handstand contests up on the balcony where we were playing.

Billy looks good. I'm gonna take him up on his promise to cook me a pot roast next time I am up that way in a couple weeks, lol.

Yeah, I heard Mike call Monk ChipMonk and he never got decked, even after Mike stopped drinking. And of anyone who could do it, it would be Monk. He was feisty! I wonder if he is still in Vegas?

Jimmy Rodgers - he came up a couple times after he moved. Mike and he partnered up in a scotch tournament at Cichitti's and they won. I also saw Jimmy when I was in Vegas one year and he took me out to dinner.

The Sewickly, I went one time in the beginning with Mike when he was still drinking. Whooeee...what a tournament that was! ;)

Anyway, not to highjack the thread, but it was good to hear from you. Take care.

I dont know if he is linving in Iowa anymore or not but my vote goes for Jammie Baraks. I used to see him in Des Moines alot but I dont make it there much anymore so I dont know for sure.

Well, if we count part time residents, (because he splits time between here and Mexico) then here in Illinois it would be Marco Marquez...

And even though I don't live there, I've been there a lot so I'm giving my opinion for California.....Now that Chohan's gone, I call it a 3 way tie between Billy Palmer, Parica, and Rafael Martinez - although I might put Rafael (cuz he hates to play a safety), a hair under Billy and Parica.

In your opinion, is Marco better than Chris Gentile?

Au Contraire !!!

Gentleman, Not bothering to learn the game of one pocket, will certainly ensure you will be stuck in the bowel's of mediocrity in the world of pool !
If you try it, you WILL like it. :D
