There was a post not too long ago about a new pool hall opening at pool sharks old location in las vegas. Anyone know if this place has opened yet?

he is doomed to close unless the slots make it for him as he is going the smoking route.
he is stuck in the 1980's.

I'm just curious....

Is there a low cost but hi-tech alternative to the wiffle ball score keeper string that adorns all pool hall table lights?

I always thought that would go a long way in bringing the game/atmosphere into the 21st century.

Just wondering.

Quarters under the rail not classy enough? Use gold coins......

Well the place is in the wrong business in Las Vegas, Naveda. Honestly people do not go to Las Vegas to play Pool.

They go to sin city to:

Eat Gormet Food

Shop in high end shop

Gamble

Stay in 4-5 Star Resorts

See World Class entertainment.

NO TO PLAY POOL.

Most of the people in Las Vegas are not tourists.

I understand that but even local gamble, love gormet food, seeing shows. Pool room is going to fail I would be. Give it a year, and it will cease becase it is not m,asking money. Might stay ope3mn longer if someone want to rican it at a loss. I was in business 25 years, and I good money. I did not have a hobby business, I had a profitable business.

Coco, I hate to break this to you, but Mark.Griffin is 100 times the businessman you ever were!..I'm sure hes done his homework, and if he thinks it will fly, who are you to say it won't?..How much would you be willing to wager that you are wrong again? (as usual)

Gonna be in Vegas over Labor Day weekend, I'm guessing it won't be opened yet... :-(

I'm siding with the Cowboy here...
...Mark Griffin has never 'rican' a business in his life...no experience whatsoever.

He had pool rooms in Alaska for years along with a billiard supply co. I doubt anyone knows the business better than he does.

This will be a well run room with great equipment. I think it will be fine.

Not everyone knows how to "RICAN" a business...only Coco.

pt109...It appears I may be the only one who appreciates your strange sense of humor!....But, it would be really great if we could get Coco to tell us exactly what a "Rican" is?..:p :p :p

Wouldn't it be great if Justin can set up some TAR matches there? Mark was a partner in the TAR studio if I recall. I hope they're putting in a TV table.

Anyway, Vegas and touring the pool rooms is on my to do list.

Its a pretty safe bet there will be plenty of TV exposure, along with some well run tournaments and high $$$, head up matches!
I believe Mark and Ozzie have already assured us of that!..For sure with them, (or Justin if he decides to get involved)
there won't be any shortage of top players eager to participate! :)

Translation: Locals gamble, love gourmet food and seeing shows. I would bet the pool room is going to fail. It will close in a year because it won't be profitable. It may last three months longer if someone wants to continue to run it at a loss.
