Just got a call from one of the partners about a new room opening soon in Dallas Tx.

It is going to cater to ACTION. Ther will be 8 Diamond 9 ftrs and one bar box.

There will be big matches taped and put on the net. Ring games, one pocket tournaments and more.

AThe partners opening this place are Billy Incardona, Bumperman, Tommy Ray, and Redbird. It should be intresting. I will post more about it as info becomes available.

It will be locate at 635 and Plano Rd.

When is this going to be opened? Is Larry "Sneaky Pete" Rothberg's place open at Arapaho and 75?

This sounds like a Vice Squad "bust" just waiting to happen  !!!

I really doubt that. There has been much talk about the local authority concerning itself with pool and what goes on.

They don't concern themselves because their really isn't that much going on.

Everytime a calcutta is mentioned someone wants to bring up the legal side of it. FWIW, in the past 38 years in Texas, there have been two arrests involving calcuttas and zero prosecutions. Neither arrest took plalce in a pool room either. The police have better things to do and concern themselves with.

I think the main idea here is a way to market pool and some great matches through the internet for a very low price. I wish them well.

No doubt Lewis, we need their "action" room. I wish them luck also. Hope the four of them do a great job.....randyg

I'm going to Dallas tomorrow woth Redbird for a few days and check it out.

He told me last night that the place should be open in about 30 days.

Tentative plans are to hold a grand opening Ring game and one pocket tournament.

It should be fun.

I would think

they would have more barboxes than 1, since most of the action I have seen occurs on them and not full sized.

When I lived in Texas there was a good deal of action in the rooms. Not illegal as long as only the two players are betting. They are engaged in a contest of skill and gambling is defined as a contest of luck. It WAS considered illegal for railbirds to bet on the matches as they were not using their skill, but in 30 years I never saw anyone busted for it. As an earlier poster said, the police in Dallas have real crimes to worry about and do not hassle folks for just having fun.

However, they will bust home casinos. I guess because that competes with the state lottery. Or because neighbors complain about the traffic. I knew two different folks who got popped for running those. Both got their wrists slapped, fined, and had their equipment confiscated. One did a few months in jail.

Where I live now in rural Georgia you can get arrested for anything. They even stop people for having the windows in their cars tinted too dark. They just don't have anything else to do.

Thanks for the info.can u please tell the owners to designate some tables for action only like in Cue club in Las vegas.Other wise there will be problems with people like me.In the absence of such designation/assignment to the tables I will refuse to vacate the table when a gambler (with an attitude that he is important and his game is important than any one else) asks me to leave the table and I will feel insulted and I then will give a holler to my buddies smith & wesson.:D  :D

I never argue with Smith & Wesson. They shoot far too straight for me.

Where I play all the time here in San Antonio there is one table everyone wants to play on because it's the best table in town and it really sucks.

The inmates run the assylum and have deemed it a Knock table. If I am playing for $20 a game and you get a game for say $50, you can knock me off the table.

Well there is a new kid been coming around who is respectful, quiet easy -going, and will bet a little here and there.

He is playing one of the local lock artists for $20 per game and the old Lush decides he is goi8ng to knock him off because he has a $30 game. The kid quietly just looked at him for a second and said, " you sir obviously have no respect for me, so I will show you very little. You need to step away from me right here and now or I am going to feed you that fancy cue of yours."

He just glared at the guy as he walked away looking for his heart. I thought I was going to die laughing. Needlessly to say, everyone looks at the did a little differently now. This was long overdue.

Anyway I will know more about Dallas next week.

A poolhall that only allows people who gamble...

Is this going to be a concrete building with no electricity, lease, or bills of any kind? Does it have a backer like Kevin Trudeau who has money to throw away and not expect anything in return?

Anyone care to wager on how long the place last?

Yes and he knows it like the back of his hand.

When did you play him and how did you do?
