***New Room Opening***Club Med Billiards***Harrisburg, PA

J - You have to leave your house if you want to get played.

Did you say free beer? May want to correct that!

Find me some action Coop! Also don't forget to put me in the 14.1

Free beer, that's right.
Every 3rd week I believe.. with a big party at the end and a tournament.
This league is Joel's baby. Check with him to be sure.

Action?
Let me know when you're coming in, bring more than $50 and you got action.

You're in the 14.1, I'll let you know when I'm going to have a player meeting.
Sometime in Dec.

Was that a school at one time? Kinda looks like it to me.

Very old school type establishment as well i'd say.

Good luck. You're going to have to do almost everything right to make it in this environment and you have to play to the audience you got.

I knew a guy who had a lowscale room and he decided to expand and put in a full mid range all american restaurant. He hired a real chef spent 80K on equipment, opened up and people stayed away in droves.

Everyone got fired. They reluctantly hired Spanish help for their american fare, they started making a few Spanish Dishes etc. Long story short-They went fully Latino on everything and the place just rocks now. The owner is so happy. They actually have from 3-7 people working on the restaurant end and 1 on the pool end. They sell more Corona per pool table than any place in the North Id bet. There's never any trouble. The owner went from just barely and i mean barely scrapping by to sitting pretty.

Thats a very interesting story. Just goes to show you that you have to appeal to your customers.

I for one hope everything works out well with this room. We have really no where to play anymore around this area, and in that I mean decent places. I think if everyone around this area that are serious about pool and billiards stick togtether and check this room out it will have no problems haveing buisness day after day. I would be there everyday if I lived closer, but the 30+ mile drive one way and the traffic at some hours is my only problem. Good luck to Club Med and lets everyone give this place a shot at succeeding. <<<<ED

awesome

Thanks for all the support guys!

This room, in it's old location, had a waiting list every fri. and sat. night with
more tables than we have here.

I'm making flyers this weekend and I'm going to distribute them all over the
city next week.

I think this room is going to be a huge success.

come in out of the heat/ cold ;)

The 8 ball in-house ends on 10/27 and we'll be starting again on a different
night, either tue. or thurs., shortly after that.
Get a team together and get in here, the food is great, the competition is
good and friendly and it's only $5/ person / week.

The 14.1 league ends on 11/7 and will start again immediately.
Participation is up to 17 players this session from 12 last session.
We have a list of about 10 new players coming in next session
and we're talking about doing 2 divisions, one open and one handicapped.
Currently there's one handicapped division.

The handicapped 9 ball tournament should return to tue. or thur. at the
same time as the next session of 8 ball.

Please send me a message for more info/ suggestions or call the room

I'll be starting free clinics in October.

I've learned this game from some of the best in the business and am
eager to share and help you improve.

Private lessons are also available.

It looks like they have no Beer??? If thats right it only makes life harder. I hope I am wrong on this as it looks like a nice room. But you have to have at least beer to get more people in the door.

Whens the Open tournament?!

And Lindstrom: You must live in the woods! The Man will arrest you for that in the big city:D:D!

It is BYOB.
We've been successful for 20 years with no beer.

Pennsylvania law says that if you serve alcohol, you can't have more than
3 or 4 hourly tables and as many bar boxes as you want.
(correct me if I'm wrong)

It's really not much of a concern for us.

Let me know when you're coming through, we'd love to have you.

I live in the burbs and am good friends with "The Man" so I am safe. We ride our Harley's together. The Chinese family across the street sure does wonder why I do it though from the looks I get from them sometimes. Cracks me up.

Oh well BYOB makes a big difference. Its actually cheaper for the customers I think and they can still have their drinks while playing.

I would love to come through, like I said looks like a nice place. If I come I will be bringing a couple of the guys too so it would be fun. I hope all continues to go well for you,
Mark,
