Came across this site when researching tips and advice for a table I just bought. I am no pool player although I love the game. I was a fairly serious 3 cushion player for a few years. Never really got great but I probably averaged .75-.8 for a few years. In high school and college never played anything but 9 ball thanks to the movie " The Color of Money". I am a golfer who owns a sweet GC3, not assembled yet as my basement is not quite finished. Looking forward to bouncing some ideas off y'all...

Welcome to the board. There seem to be a fair number of Hoosiers here although I'm not sure how many from the Northern part of the state. There is a lot of information here and a lot of knowledgeable posters just take some time to sort through it and feel free to interact and I'm sure you'll glean a few valuable tidbits.

Welcome and bounce away! Won't be the first time I've been bounced.

Welcome, ND Fan. Lots to see and do here.
Be sure and sign up for tomorrow's field trip to the National Feces and Scat Museum, in Fallon, Nevada.
There is a dried turd there that once came from Bonnie, or Clyde. The brochure said they can't tell for sure which one it belonged to because of all the bullet holes.
The bus leaves at nine am sharp.

Sign me up for that one Tramp, my granddaddy grew up with Clyde! Welcome to the new people, you'll converse with some great people here.

As a fairly new member myself, welcome to AZB.

As dontlitethat stated, the "Talk to a mechanic" section is loaded with information, you just have to take the time and search through its history, but a lot of valuable information is there. I took a middle of the road furniture table (Connelly) from a really poor state of condition (from a really horrible maintenance history), and made it a much better playing table (its still just a furniture table, but I get to play) with the knowledge I gained from there plus what skills I already had.

As for your table, the GCIII, a very nice table by the way..... When setup correctly, will make a really nice playing table you will enjoy for many more years to come.

Like you, I did a full remodel on my basement (been somewhat finished for only a couple months now). I envy you some, because when i got mine done, the first week late at night after the family had gone to bed, That feeling when you walk in to your new room, turn on some tunes and can bang some balls around, it's a great feeling of pride and accomplishment. For me it was a 25 year dream come to reality, and I hope you get the same feelings I did and still do as well. Enjoy it, I know I have and do on a daily/knightly basis.

Best of luck and don't forget to post pictures in the "Show us your HOME ROOM" ( link to thread here ). That was another moment of pride for me, as I looked at that thread for ideas and inspiration throughout my design and build stages. The moment I got to post my own photos was yet another milestone met.
