Congrats to Stevie Moore on another huge win. I first saw this guy on Pro Pool Video and his game just blew me away. When he is on he shoots as good as anyone I have ever watched.

It's kind of cool for those of us who have known Stevie for a long time to see him these days. He has always had the game(and by the way, he's damn near always "on":p ), but with him taking tourneys seriously the last couple of years, alot more people get to enjoy watching him play. Getting hard to say he is one of the most underrated players anymore. And for those of you who haven't met him, he is a really good guy to boot.

Awesome news... I was pulling for him in this tourney. I too have first read about him in articles and then seen him on ProPoolVideo. Had the pleasure of meeting him the the Open this year. Like muttley said, real cool guy and I was glad I went over to talk to him.

I picked up the Accustats dvds from Bank Pool Derby City 2007, Semi and finals where Stevie beats Efren in the finals for the win. That last rack was amazing.

Is there gonna be anyway to see these matches from the Mizerak championship? Wish ProPoolVideo was back up.

Yup, I've known Stevie for about 7 or 8 years, he wasn't around when we initially moved to South Carolina from New York 11 years ago but I met him shortly after his return. Actually, I think I met him and Mike Templeton about the same time, give or take a few weeks. I was overjoyed when he beat Efren in the Bank pool at DCC. He's a hugely talented guy and as you said he's a good person. I'm kinda glad he's taken a shot at the tournament scene, it's plenty rough out there on the road.
I remember a post on rsb several years ago, I think it was from someone in Florida, saying this guy name Steve Moore from South Carolina was politely offering weight to every body in the area and taking them down.

I don't know if you knew/know his old road partner back then(don't want to use his name, even though he rarely plays now, he still isn't into tourneys), but those two politely made their way across the country busting pretty much everybody who would do anything. Maybe the scariest pair that nobody ever knew:grin:

I talked to Stevie a few months ago and he said that since he quit doing the whole "road thing" and put his mind to playing tournies against top notch players, he is enjoying the game alot more than he has in many years. And, when you enjoy what you are doing, you usually perform at your top level...I would say that is working for Stevie these days. Great job Stevie...Congrats.

Wow that's great!! We had lunch at the tournament before we ended up playing each other and had a good conversation, he's a great guy and I'm very happy to hear he won it all
