NO Match for Harriman/Schmidt

I got a text that said that basically said "Hey man I want to run something by you and maybe get some info,"

At the time I was busy working on a new website and a match bigger than anything we have ever done before. So I didnt drop what I was doing to call and find out what plan Mark had up his sleeve this time. Remember the pro player chili contest?

Besides Mark doesnt have to call me about anything. Just like if he puts out a match possibility in public I am free to make an offer on it as well. Its called competition and it is good for the players and the fans. There is a reason I do not discuss what I am doing until its done though.

This is all a giant cluster. I will own part of the blame for getting pissed and posting after I read the OP. I talked to Kimberly from Str8 shots yesterday. She was very nice and professional. She explained that what came across in the OP was not what she meant to say and I believe her. My impression is that she and her husband are not very familiar with AZ or pro pool and its history. They are trying to do their own thing with a focus on kids it looks like and had no clue what they stumbled into here. I hold no ill will toward anyone and wish Str8 shots and Mark well.

I am going to call Corey now and see if I can get him to call Shane some names on facebook so I can drum up half this much interest in Fridays match that actually will be taking place.

Justin, I know you were, or still are, ticked at me for what I said. Hopefully, you now have a different take on what I said. However, as far as what I stated about it being kind of low trying to trump what they were doing, and you stating that it is "just business". Well, run this by your head for a minute- you have gotten rather ticked (and I feel rightly so) in the past about others doing it to you. You stated that is the reason you don't put anything out anymore until it is "nailed down".

Here, you did the same thing to Kimberly, and justified it as "just business". That may work for you, and you of course are free to do things as you see best. But, wouldn't it be better if you didn't do the things to others that really upset you when some do them to you?? How can you get upset with others for doing it when it is "just business" in your mind??

The simple fact that you talked to Kimberly and her husband, and got the straight scoop, does speak volumes for you, and restored the respect I did have for you. (not that it might even mean anything to you) Too bad others couldn't have also taken that simple step.

I didn't see the post Danny made. Someone else also mentioned it though. I DO know that Danny said he made a post about this, and it got pulled. Why, or by whom, I have no idea.

see how that works? GOOD PR / BAD PR - it's still PR!

Unless something was written late last night, this is the only post by Danny I can recall about John:

Thank you John for your apology, I will still look forward to playing you in 2014 as I have been told you will be able to do so. Of course the true all - around format would involve Bank Pool. I don't apologize unless I truly mean it - still workin' on that Mr. 400 and Mr Ar-15 aka Justin.

I never said I talked to Kimberly's husband. Just one more example of you not letting the facts get in the way. You dont even bother to read what I post do you? You just pick and choose whatever you like to take a shot. I replied multiple times to your previous swipes and you disappeared. At this point I could care less what you think of me or how I do business.

JCIN

I hope you get double your usual viewership for your upcoming match. I'll be watching.

You do pool business in a transparent manner. It's rare, it's hard and I respect that. Good luck to you.

Kevin

In a reasonable world, I think Justin should always have first refusal for a match
involving Danny and John.

It was TAR that created this interesting situation.

You stated that you talked to Kimberly, and then about your impression of her and her husband. Yes, I assumed you might have talked to him too since you made an impression of him. In any case, that is no big deal either way, unless you want to make it one.

As to yesterday, I had to leave for a family meeting about my 96 year old mother. I felt that was more important than responding to your hurt feelings. As far as the reading part, maybe you should go back and read what I wrote with your eyes opened a little now instead of just going on what you think you read when you were all pissed off. Either way, doesn't matter one iota either way.

Funny that I said two things previously, one you ended up saying you were wrong about after talking to her. The other, I explained today. Do with it whatever you want to. If you want to have bad feelings about it, that's on you.

edit: I've got to go back over to my mom's for a while, so I won't be here for the rest of the afternoon. Just thought you might like to know.

So then you are saying that he "owns" any future matchups between them. Sorry, but that makes no sense whatsoever. How can you complain about a company dictating what a signed "employee" does, yet say that they are owned by someone that has no contract?

And TAR didn't "create" this situation, they just put up a challenge match between two players. John and Danny created all the rivalry with it. So much so, that TAR didn't want to deal with it again after trying for so long.

The above quote from Danny is not from this thread but from the other thread that's still active: "TAR offer to John Schmidt and Danny Harriman."

It should be noted that Danny has accepted John's apology but has not reciprocated by apologizing to John.

It's time for Danny to step up to the plate and sincerely apologize to John.

Danny isn't going to fake apologies. Good for you Danny.

Thank you for your contributions to this thread. I agree with much of what you write.

Sorry to hear about your mom, Neil. You're fortunate to still have her in your life. Sweet blessings are coming your way. :smiling-heart:

Probably not in his contract.

Again looking forward to a re-match in 2014, I concur with Kimberly in that John and I should receive some residual income from the sales of the pay per view (after all we have the God given talent for pool). Maybe this post will get erased? It would seem that some of these moderators need to try and flex their muscle once in a while. I sincerely do want to try and get along with John if that is possible (although I am aware of his tactics). That is why I have requested us to have microphone's that do indeed work, with penalties in place for any belligerency or unsportsmanlike conduct for either one of us. This will help to keep us honest and maybe even establish at least some form of accountability for our actions. These rules being set and in place during competition are imperative to the potential and inevitable rematch between Schmidt and myself taking place. I look forward to working with Kimberly and Straight Shots in this most anticipated rematch. Can anyone explain why my first post was erased - just cause I don't like Justins avatar with his AR15, I have a right to my opinion and I thought this was a free country I am learning were not as free as we thought we were.

Hopefully this post survives.

I only hope that sometime in the near future, both you and john can settle your differences on a pool table.

Danny you keep bringing up this match in 2014. Is this when Kimberly feels John will behave? Who is going to be streaming it? Also is she trying to get you to sign something?

I wonder if she has made her feelings about you guys getting stiffed on payperveiw clear to Justin.

Good of you to reply to the thread, thanks.
