NO Match for Harriman/Schmidt

Dave, you have always impressed me as being a very intelligent person.
You struck me as the type of person that in public, you would have zero problems conversing with anyone about any given topic.

Thats why I was a little shocked at your first post re the Aikido video. It just seemed a little close minded.

I boxed when I was young. A bit of both Ju Jitsu and Karate. So, when I have had first hand experience with my Brother and his best friend, Black and Second Degree Black, I am speaking of experience, not just what I think when I watch UTube videos on Aikido.

My little experience with Ju Jitsu, as much as it is effective, comes no where close to Aikido. We could flip a person but it was more Judo than Aikido.

I asked you to watch a few UTube videos that are available. That is about all I can do to prove it to you. Other than if you are that serious, visit a local dojo, watch a class in session and talk to the sensei and ask for him to show you a few simple moves.

Of which I am sure that you will be accommodated.

You can see for yourself in many videos, kids, tiny women and men with a smaller stature. Size and power make no difference.

On the link page that Shark posted for you, there is a clip of both Aikido vs Karate and Muay Tai. BTW, I like that link also Shark.

I will try and find the link after League tonight (several videos) of the person who is demonstrating the use of Aikido and Krav Maga together.
In my opinion, there is no way a cage fighter could take this guy down.

These ones in particular are quite impressive because this guys attackers (Randoori)
are coming at him hard and fast.

There are also several aikido street fight videos where the attacker is coming fast, no holds barred.

You should be able to find these also.

I have watched a bit of the MMA cagers. Yeah, you couldn't pay me enuff to get in the ring with any. But, they have to be able to hit an Aikido master first.
The Aikido practitioners are pretty effecient at grappling also. Maybe not as well as the Gracies with Brazilion Ju Jitsu but they can hold their own.

Cage fighters can hand out a lot of punishment, thats good because Aikido guys are very capable of handling it, that is if you can get near them.

Speaking scientifically, there is no empirical evidence to support the theory. Are you familiar with Occam's Razor?

How about a sanctioned match, that was filmed rather than a "street fight" that was staged?

Sorry, but I cannot accept the magical aspects.

NOTHING beats a good jab in the eye on AZB, be it jew jitsu or thai ma fungul or whatever. Period. (I hate periods, it's more oft a trip to the penal box)

I propose the next streamed match is between Blue Hog and Wilson. Pinky as ref w/ white, silk, designer gloves (sorry Lee & Michaela, spread the wealth).

Happy Thanks Gloving my friends!

1) i thought you were on vacation - damn it!
2) don't bring a knife to a gun fight
3) my tai-kwan-do garb is hanging....right HERE (courtesey of another AZBer @ 10 yrs ago)

Gillette 5 Blader here. Sorry Dave, as much as I would like for there to be a cage match available for you to watch, the only evidence is what is on UTbe.
Do you believe that the Aikido vs Karate and Muay Tai videos are staged in any way?

If you can't study that with an open mind, then I can't do or say much more than that

Also, there is Tai Kwon Leap. (Boot to the Head) Very deadly.

The very lack of evidence should underscore exactly what I'm saying.

If it was "all that "..there would be all sorts of people making the argument of how great it is. You wouldn't be able to keep some Aikido badass from jumping into the ring to prove his worth.

ok, Steven Segal - NOW, yáll have my attention!
so basically, we need WILSON & BLUE HOG, to grow their hair out into a ponytail (no offense Rick), and....

....IT'S ON!

Have you considered as to why there are no Aikido Tournaments?

Because it is strictkly defensive. There are no attacking moves in Aikido, that is unless you are Steven Segal.
Besides that, they couldn't be bothered with it. Aikido is beyond Tai Kwon Leap.

Steven, whom my brother met at a seminar is a very capable man. To a certain extent, he is a legend in his own mind. He has fallen out with many of the Master because of certain things but make no mistake about it, he is a Shehan and didn't get that given to him.

He is every bit as tough as he thinks he is.

Put him or any of them in the cage and let's see them defend themselves against someone who will fully intend to hurt them then!

Or maybe, it is all against their vows or other excuse that would prevent such a vulgar display.

As I originally stated, I call shenanigans.

EDIT - i can say this, cause WILSON's on vacation
