My point of view is that there are no real big secrets in pool. It's all out there. Backhand english, aiming systems (which I doubt most top players are even aware of), kicking systems....Be honest with yourself, if you've been playing 10+ years are there secrets that can suddenly elevate your game? Do you think that the top players know more than you, or do they just do simple things better?
In every sport or activity there are people who want to sell you the ultimate secret, but what are these secrets all about? Profiting on the fame of people with tons of natural ability, and the vain hopes of people that will die as B-players, if they are lucky....Does that mean that it is hopeless to practice? NO, of course it bloody isn't. Face it if you've been playing more than 5 years and still isn't at an A level, there is almost zero chance you'll ever be a pro. That doesn't mean you can't eventually reach a very high level, if you practice the easy things that are out there (FOR FREE), instead of wasting time on magical fixes. I know some players that are a lot better than myself, and the fact is they all share a common trait: They got good fast, with a short time of playing intensively most were playing at a solid B-level. .Within a few years they were at the top of the game, open level players.
You pay the price of admission of every level with sweat and tears, but no 39.95$ can ever get you there or buy you the talent to skip ahead.

Be thankful for what you've got and be critical of snake oil salesmen.
