Waxing the balls is against the rules (WPA tournament equipment specs):
16. Balls and Ball Rack
All balls must be composed of cast phenolic resin plastic and measure 2 ¼ (+.005) inches [5.715 cm (+ .127 mm)] in diameter and weigh 5 ½ to 6 oz [156 to 170 gms]. Balls should be unpolished, and should also not be waxed. Balls should be cleaned with a towel or cloth free of dirt and dust, and may also be washed with soap and water. Balls contaminated with any slippery substance - treated with a polishing or rubbing compound and/or waxed - must be cleansed and dewaxed with a clean cloth moistened with diluted alcohol before play.

I use simple green to clean, and Nu Finish to wax. I really like it.

i use nu finish car wax on my super arimaths and it works great! anyone else ever try this?
That is a strange rule for the WPA. I thought women were into waxing, but then they don't have balls either. :rotflmao:
Nu Finish isn't a wax. It's a polish which uses mild abrasion to lessen any scratches or swirle the balls have picked up during play.
I wasn't aware that it was against WPBA rules to polish the balls ... but I will continue to do so at home.
I use Meguiars PlastX on the car, watch crystals, and yes aramith billiard balls.
