Number of players at Louisiana events

Do you mean Empey? Gary will be thrilled as well! Why can't we just be non-professional pool players?

Lyn

Gary Empey won a Joss Grand Finale before it moved to the 'Stone'.
He beat Kid Delicious in the final..when the 'Kid' could play.

PT,

Remember that as well. Me and Gary have battled it out for years. Sadly, he is in semi-retirement from playing the pool game. Very involved with Accu-stats though. Miss his fire.

To both you and Nostroke. Forgot that pesky "roll eyes" after my comments. Took your comments about my fellow players in the humor in which it was given. Both Bill and Gary have earned the respect of their fellow players.

"Dub",

Wasn't feeling well this morning. Thanks for putting a major smile on my face!!!!!! Keep on twisting (if I knew how to do it, I'd have a u-tube link to Fats Domino).

Lyn

Lyn, it's YouTube and I think you might have been referring to Chubby Checker. lol You were close, though...

For those of you who thought I was kidding about not feeling well this morning, imagine how I feel now!!!:help::speechless::scratchhead:

Brackets

So - no one knows?

With all the press releases and hoopla, there is no acknowledgement of the number of players?

And no brackets!

Am the only one who thinks ths looks odd, after all ths is an 'ABP point event'.

Mark Griffin

Mark: The brackets were online right here at AZBilliards. Here's the link: http://www.azbilliards.com/brackets/showbrackets.php Shows 28 players in the 10 ball.

I have had the same problem for any event that Charlie is involved with. No brackets without moving mountains and digging deep...and then just getting the final 4 listing.
Pleasantly surprised that I could follow the proceedings here at AZ. Maybe the ABP acknowledges that AZ might boost interest in their 'cause', after all...they even sent a press release to AZ for this event.

I hear CW lost kudos with some of the players when he backed up Ronnie A in the 9-ball final. The rules were technically with him but apparently the way he approached it was a 'suck-up' to Ronnie and a 'slap' to Robb, hence Robb's ...and others' reactions.
Let's hope that next year nobody tries to schedule any minor events which might conflict with the premier tournaments. It would be good to see unilateral support in pool instead of churlish attempts at attention seeking.

Just bustin' your "tomato cans!" lol

Now I know what's wrong. Forgot to OPEN the "tomato can". Staring at it didn't work. Must have had a hunger headache . Thanks for the nice thought. Put a grin on my chin!

i see on facebook that Flyboy won the 8 and 9ball amateur events. How many players did they have in those events? Are the results listed anywhere? Im interested to see the total entries and the payouts. I have this feeling its kinda ugly and thats why it hasnt been released.

Now I know there were 28 in each of the 'pro events' - and I was shown how to pull up the brackets so I can follow what occurred.

Next question is where is the info on the amateur events. I am sure the sponsor would like to see the results! I don't get it.

From Uwate post above, I know Jimmy Spears (Flyboy) won 2 events, and I think JoeyA won the seniors.

WHERE IS THE INFO on these events? Is it a secret??

Here is how I see it; If I have to wade through pages of BS promoting the events for weeks in advance to the event, then I should be able to see who played and how they finished. Anything less is a promoter using (abusing?) these forums AZ and wasting my time.

I think ALL events should be required to post how many players and other information. Too many people can make a 7 man tournament sound like it was 64 players 'fighting till the end' - LOL.

Jimmy Majors won them. "Supafly"
Uwate referred him as the wrong name. I will get the amateur info today and post it. I know a few that were there. Its BS Charlie wont post it.

oh my bad. I was glancing at fb too quick and got confused on names.

were those amateur events played on barboxes?

They had right at 30 players in the 8 & 9 ball
Jimmy got $1,000 for 1st. As that was the guarantee.
Dalton Riley got 2nd for $400

Well, now I think I know why there is no media coverage of the results. It may be that Dragon and CW do not want the sponsors who gave them money for this event to know what a piss-poor turnout there was, not to mention the money that Dragon and CW put in their pockets that the sponsors gave them for this event. It's free money to Dragon and CW. They profit no matter how many people show up.

If the sponsors ever were to learn less than 30 players showed up to the event they are sponsoring with their money, I am thinking the sponsors may realize their money would be put in a better place elsewhere in the pool world than this event put on by Dragon and CW. Why would Dragon and CW let the sponsors in on the reality that the event was a poor turnout? JMHO, FWIW.

Are you job sharing with your dog as an avatar. How do you decide whose turn it is?

I am bumping up this thread because finally there is a posting on the results of the Louisiana events.

The title says 'Fields Doubles Up' - yet it never mentions the size of any of the fields. (what a suprise - but the title does not match the article)! In fact, the title refers to Chris Fields. A little misleading?? But congrats to Mr. Fields!

Bottom line, we still have no idea how many entries there were.
(I have heard some of the fields had 5 players, 8 players, 18 players and 30 players).

Here is the press release on the Louisiana amateur events:
