If you go to the Prather web site you will see why the the comment was made.No one owes wheat an apology because when it comes to false claims he has cornered the market. It is not unreasonable to question any and all aspects of wheats claims. What is unreasonable is to advertise 90-120 day turn around time on a cue knowing that he was not in compliance, make 4 promises of delivery, resort to private messages containing insults and petty threats , continue to self promote and seek attention as though his past actions are irrelevant. No one can damage wheat's business beyond what he has done to himself and that is if there really is a business.Unfortunately a forgiving soul made the mistake of extending trust to wheat and to date he has been rewarded with nothing but false stories,no cue, no refund and aggravation.I hope Mr. Edwards receives his cue on Tuesday but I would not be shocked if all he receives is another disappointment.

Brian

Point is if EW makes his own cues, somebody[Shawn] should not come on here & say he doesn't make his own cues PERIOD.
Bash all you want about delivery time & broken promises as these are facts. When someone comes on here & spouts lies trying to hurt someones business [more than he has hurt it himself] he is in fact worse than EW & should be dealt with accordingly. I'm sure EW didn't intentionaly lie about delivery time. Are you saying you have never been late to anything? If so throw all the stones you want.
Btw I'm not defending EW I'm merely stating shawn is out of line on this. If EW doesn't make his own cues then I will apologize to Shawn. End of discussion.

Still keeping this thread going, Brian? For what?

The cue has been shipped. Charlie will receive it in a few days. Charlie has said that when he receives it that he might auction it off - either way, somebody will be getting a very nice cue.

You may disagree, and that's fine by me. Many of you are already on my ignore list anyway - so type away.

I believe you have over reacted to Shawn's original post.I do not believe that telling the truth (stating the facts) amounts to "bashing".Was it the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th time that wheat promised delivery that you are sure he did not intentionally lie about? I have been late to events although I don't make it a habit. I have never taken money and not delivered. If you go to the Prather web site you will see that the appearance is very similar to what wheat posted.I can't remember seeing a post from someone who actually received a cue from wheat. It would be interesting to actually hear from a respected member of AZB(not a wheat nut hanger if any exist) regarding his cue building. I know that in the Ask the Cue Maker section wheat's statements were not well received by established cue makers.I know wheat has used the excuses of receiving inferior wood and making repeated mistakes as reasons for not making delivery.wheat has described a very poor set up as his "workshop" due to humidity and location near a river. This coming Tuesday we should know if the cue exists and was received by Mr. Edwards.Unfortunately , Mr. Edwards has stated he will not review the cue in the event it actually appears.
Best regards,

Brian

The thread continues until the cue appears. For what you ask? Because I do not want to stand by silently and I don't take kindly to insults and petty threats.Just when I questioned the existence of a wheat "nut hanger" one appears. What are the odds?

If this is really about what Wheat said to you then just stick to that matter. If Mr. Edwards wants to post about his problems then that is HIS choice IMO. Just post what Wheat has done to you and I believe it will look alot more valid and not like just another chance for you to chime in about business that is not yours. Just so you know I DO NOT condone anything he has done here but being in business for awhile now I've found that bad press is almost as good as good press sometimes.
Just my view on things.
Larry

Very well stated!

Rep points for you!!!

Brian,
Your name calling is immature and unnecessary, but I guess you need to resort to that to make yourself feel better. That should show everybody else that reads this thread exactly what kind of a person that you are. This never has been any of your business. I know you will disagree with that, and that's ok too. I don't expect you to understand that. Flame away at me for whatever reason you can dream up - it proves that you are just looking to argue about something. I don't have time for it.

Charlie,
Eddie shipped the cue a few days ago and its on it is on its way. It should arrive soon. There is no reason to worry about whether or not it was shipped - it was. I received your voice message the other day but I was busy and unable to get back with you. Feel free to call me this evening.

I don't know Eddie Wheat and I've never done business with him.

I have been watching these forums for a long time and don't post very often to due the criticism one gets for coming off wrong. I don't need the stress of being attacked on my computer, for crying out loud....

But I do have to say that I don't believe that Eddie is a thief.

I do believe that he is disorganized and tries to look professional, though his perception of that is a bit askew.

I am guessing that instead of admitting that something happened during the process, trying to look professional, he fibbed and said it was almost done or whatever. Too much time passed and now the situation turned ugly and the fibs are biting him the in butt.

I guess the point is, people are only human. Mistakes happen.

To Brian, I assume you already are a bit biased against Eddie Wheat to begin making noise on something that does not concern you. Historically Eddies post have caused alot of controversy and many foks are not in his fan club.

To Eddie I'm sure you were taking notes during the whole Varney thread, so you should have learned that HONESTY is the best way to preserve/build your reputation and be able to stay in business.
If the cue is delayed for some reason, even if it was a rookie mistake, say so! People, if they are reasonable and knowledgable about cues, will be understanding. No one paying that much money should want to hurry along the final product.

So people, Get off Eddie Wheat! It is too bad you all (you know who you are) have attacked him all along. It makes this thread less credible!!!

Eddie, own up to your mistakes and apologize. It is ok to be wrong sometimes!!

I have learned by reading that if I now say, JMHO, that anything I said is now acceptable...lol

Take care all...

A quote from your previous post:"You may disagree, and that's fine by me. Many of you are already on my ignore list anyway - so type away." So much for that comment.wheat made it my business when he used insulting language and petty threats in private messages after I spoke out against his actions in this matter. In the future I will strive to be more understanding like Mr. Edwards.I am not there yet. You have valid point regarding my use of the term "nut hanger". It was not mature on my part.(progress not perfection)I was just amazed at the coincidence of the same person holding Mr. Edwards cue on 19 August 2008 chiming in on this thread right after I used the term and questioned the existence of one.Blackjack , why have you not confronted wheat regarding his actions in this matter? If you have been to his shop and are his friend , why would you stand by silently and not bring it to his attention that his actions in this matter have been reprehensible? If you are really his friend you might want to suggest that he refrain from making petty threats and insults in his private messages.Where were you Blackjack while wheat was making false promises of delivery and one excuse after another? What does that say about the kind of person you are?Read the whole thread, be objective and then you can take my inventory. You have a right to your opinion and apparently the ability to justify and rationalize wheat's behavior. There is no need to "flame away" at you.You stated your thoughts in a civil manner.
Brian

Hi Gwen:
At this point I am more then a "bit" biased against wheat. If Mr, Edwards does not receive his cue I would like to see wheat banned from AZB and prosecuted. If wheat ever contacts me again I will enjoy taking the appropriate legal action. This matter concerned me when I spoke out against wheats repeated unfullfiled promises of delivery of the cue. wheat made a mistake when he private messaged me with insults and petty threats.Once that line was crossed I was all in.Had I been witness to you being victimized I would not have stood by silently.
Sincerely,
Brian

This thread reminds me of an old joke someone emailed me years ago.

A man is cleaning out his closet and placing unwanted items of clothing in a box for the Salvation Army. In going through the pockets of a suit he hasn't worn in ten years, he finds a claim stub for a long forgotten pool cue he had dropped off at the cue makers shop for repair.

He decides to have a little fun and checks in the yellow pages to see if the shop still exists. In finding that it does he sets off to the cue maker. He walks into the shop, and with a perfectly straight face, and saying nothing, he hands the man behind the counter the claim stub.

The man glances at the claim stub and disappears into the back of the shop. Five minutes goes by and the man is feeling somewhat guilty and decides to tell the guy it was just a joke.

Just as he's about to call out, the man reappears from the back of the shop, hands the man the claim stub and says,
"Your cue will be ready Monday."

What are the chances 2 names were picked from a phone book followed by throwing 2 darts at a map of north America?Either of these people members of AZB?If so perhaps they could post when they placed their orders. Better yet what are the chances of 2 people not being on AZB ordering and actually receiving a cue from wheat?I would guess slim and none and that slim left town.By Tuesday more will be revealed. Will the cue arrive or not arrive, that is the question.Could wheat provide definitive proof to Mr. Edwards that he actually mailed the cue?How hard can it be to provide proof of mailing an insured package? In view of other posts , let the thread remain for all eternity.

Brian - I can understand you wanting to stand up for Mr. Edwards, but sometimes best intentions can hamper a situation from resolving itself.

For the most part, I think your intentions are good. The above post however, is out of line.

To flat out accuse someone of fabricating customer names and locations?
If you are going to step out, bring the proof sir.

Mr. Wheat needs to make thing right with his customer, that much is certain!

In view of wheat's past actions, statements and history I raised the question of credibility.I admit I am skeptical of wheat's claims. It would be nice if I could actually produce a map of North America with 2 dart holes. It was sarcasm, no doubt about it. wheat bombards AZB with his advertising and yet in my limited time on AZB and from reading past threads (maybe I missed it) I have not seen an AZB member post about actually receiving one of his cues.I did raise the question of whether or not the cues that wheat claimed were shipped actually went to people on AZB.So far no one has come forward.I do not recall seeing any of his cues for sale on the secondary market.(Maybe some are out there).I am glad you suffered no injury in making your post.In an effort to be more mature I am now refraining from negative labeling i.e. "nut hanger" etc. I had never heard the term until the Nightmare Thread and thought it was appropriate and humorous.
Best regards,
Brian

Brian=Cincyman... Not really, but they could have been separated at birth?

Wow. Just as others have indicated these are the same cues you have been touting for many months. I even looked here ~ http://www.slide.com/r/ynHAAYrl2z98HJwXMAgU1KMADNw-BGGF many months ago and the exact same pictures were there, even the one that you say is for Mr. Edwards. You have been a cue maker for 18 years and have pictures of like what, 5 cues tops? Makes no sense bud. And the worst part of it all is look at the 9th picture from the left and you will see poor Mr. Edwards cue. Is it me or do every one of the veneers look as far from straight as it gets? I hope thats some sort of lighting error but I don't know man, doesn't look good. Is that the same cue Charlie is supposed to get or maybe did you redo the same one and thats what took all this time?

Just a few more pics to show the quality of my woods and craftsmanship for those who can appreciate the world of custom cuemaking !

Thanks Again, Eddie Wheat

wait wait wait a minute. Mr. Wheat I will never post in one of your threads again if you can even come close to clearing this one up for me. Is this Mr. Edwards cue right here? ~

If it is, can you please explain how someone commented on it last December if you have been making it for Mr. Edwards for 7 months? Please help me out here and I promise to never comment again. Promise

That's the same cue I ordered. It was a completed cue, ready to ship. But it had only one shaft. I wanted two shafts. EW said he could finish up 2 matching shafts within a few weeks and get the cue right out to me. That's been about 8 months ago.

Ouch, I didn't realize that all he had to do was make a shaft. I thought it was bad that it was taking this long to make the whole cue after promising a much shorter time. I can only hope to have half your patience when I "grow up".
