I wonder how everyone could possibly be expected to appreiciate those pics. I mean I need pics of a cue to be customized to MY eyes and MY eyes ONLY. I mean, if we are to talk about TRULY custom, then let's go all the way. I hear this guy has a reputation for that kind of thing.
Isn't that the logic for not letting a number of different peopel to demo one of these truly custom cues? BTW 58'' 19 oz? Wow, who else could POSSIBLY be expected to play with a cue with such custom specs like that? 8 points? ivory? Surely there isn't a single other cuemaker that could deliver this kind of unusual beast. Oops, I used the word "deliver". That is a dirty word when discussing these cues.
Seriously, I truly hope that this cue DOES arrive. I hope the cue is of acceptable quality, and I hope that Mr Edwards is able to recover his investment.
I feel that whenever something like this happens. It NEEDS to be discussed here in a PUBLIC forum. Mr Wheat is not shy about using this public forum to advertise, criticize, and do business ( take money from other members). He is fully aware that this is a public forum that reaches many people of all levels in the pool world. This is a double edged sword. He is free to access and post replies to every post made on here. This is not done in secret or behind his back. He has an opportunity to defend himself. BTW, the best defense would be to deliver on his promises and conduct tried and true good business practices. This ALWAYS gets noticed and recognized! Reputation in this business is probably one of the MOST important things. I know that there are MANY who read these posts, and become informed. They will not post or express their opinions, but they will act on this knowledge. This forum is a great wealth of info and a way of finding out what is what. I find it very hard to beleive that many people on this forum will be sending in full payments on the promise of a cue, but what do I know? All I can say is that I know I wouldn't. There are far too many good and great cuemakers out there who truly value their customers and potential customers, who wouold bend over backwards to make a customer happy. Especially in this kind of economy, I think this point should not be lost.
Basically, people should be informed about this kind of behavior. I think if people are trustworthy and make good on their promises it should be publicly noted. The same is also true of the flip side.
my .02 , or probably closer to 1.00!
