Official BigFoot Appleton vs Bustemante Thread

$1000 a man entry, single elim. I question why it's not call shot also. Johnnyt

I wish call shot was the standard and also you can't win if the 9 ball goes in one of the two corners behind the rack on the break. Take some of the luck out of the game.......

I am quite confused. I thought they were playing 10-Ball, which is call shot. Unless they changed the rules for this event.

I do have my moments. :o I've been pushing an agenda since the Cup... Perhaps too strongly at times.

Thanks Mahna (I think ;))

Thanks for all your updates Matt...For those of us who are too cheap, (or to broke) to buy the feed, you and Pinklady, are our HEROES !..Bottom line is, I could afford it..but I much prefer your 'blow by blow'...It beats watching two pro's dog their
brains out, and beat the rubber to death !..Carry on bro, when it comes to 'play by play'..you make Howard Cosell
sound like John Barton !..;)

Thanks for the updates. At least your updates come in clear, unlike most
of the streams of late:eek::)

Ooops, I slipped a game. Thanks AtLarge.

I just scratch my head - no one tries that cut, right? 10 feet away, 9 ball was maybe 2 inches off the rail MAX, 18 inches away from the pocket.

Regardless, Busty deserved to win, he played better. He played GOOD! When Daz one stroked and dogged that 10 ball after a nice clearing on rack 5 - that hurt, big.

There were plenty of easier long cuts earlier in the match where both players resisted temptation and played safe. I have no idea why that particular shot suddenly looked attractive enough to shoot at. I guess he just saw the end in sight and wanted to close it down... which he did, just not as planned.

God, I hate slop in pro matches. Why not use regular 10-ball rules, or at least make it so you have to call the 10?

IMO both players were off their game last night. Daz seemed to start to catch a gear several times, only to miss a relatively easy shot. That 10-ball you mention, he just slammed that in. You got an easy straight-in shot on the money ball. Hit a nice, crisp stop shot and slide that bead over. I don't get drilling the game ball into the pocket. Maybe it's just the adrenaline needing a release.

Anyway, a very enjoyable way to spend the evening for only six bucks. My three year-old grandson watched part of the earlier match between Corey and Niels. He got very excited every time they made a shot. "Look, Grandma, he getted it in da hole, just like Papa"

Well, not quite, Ethan, but I appreciate the thought. :)

The Bigfoot matches are always basically 10 ball with 9 ball rules and all ball fouls. At least that's the way it's been since they started playing it on the 10 ft table. Heck last year here at Derby the 10 even counted on the break in any pocket. It is spotted this year. I think I remember Jay saying he doesn't like the call shot rules, but I won't speak for him obviously. I just know this particular event hasn't been call shot. I think it should be though for sure. That's part of what makes 10 ball a different game. That being said I've still really enjoyed watching the matches.

Very interesting match, put me in the " I don't like slop for the pro's" class.
As an aside I wish they didn't have that ugly orange carpet.

Great Accu-stats stream as always.

I hate the balls. After playing with the same colors for 60 years they look like a game from some other country...like China. And don't think for a minute it don't get into some of the heads that have been playing with the originals for 20, 30, and 40 years. Johnnyt

While daz probably would lose anyway it was a shame to see a slop win just when we were getting excited for a comeback. Busty yelled "HALLELUJAH!" when he saw that the ten was tracking to the pocket. In a single elimination format with a stiff entry fee, where they already shortened the race, we need rules that don't add more rolls.
