*** Official Mosconi Cup 2009 Thread ***

QUICK, some American, please send Dave's post to team captain Nick Varner so he can keep the fire burning bright.

(Roy, previously lit a bonfire under the U.S. Mosconi Cup Team for which we will be eternally grateful.)

Oh yeah, and thanks again Dave for the link. The video and audio are superb!

LOL.......your welcome. I think today will be interesting......if Hatch is going to win the MVP he could basically lock it up with a win in singles (match 12) vs Niels Feijen today.

But like I said before it is all up to the first couple of doubles matches IMO

Alright ladies, we're set for day 3!!

The Mosconi Cup is without doubt THE tournament of the year, for the players and fans. Win or lose, this is the only event that brings out so much passion, heart and joy. Just ask any player that has ever played in one of the Mosconi events, and they will all tell you that this is the best event there is. It adds so much pressure and tension, and there's not one player that isn't nervous during that event. (Of course, I don't care about the event this year, if we lose)

One player described it the best to me when he said that walking into the arena is like facing a wall of emotions. Ask Dennis Hatch how he feels about the Mosconi? Or perhaps John Schmidt will tell you what it is like. Oscar Dominguez said this on his facebook:

Day 2: USA 7 Europe 2. We are really playing well together. Gotta keep on going. Its race to 11. USA USA USA! lol, this event is the greatest thing I've ever been involved in. Such emotion and pressure. Its awesome having everyone being involved on EVERY shot with millions across the world watching. Tomorrow is a new day and we are focused on keeping the momentum. Wish us luck... Thanks to everyone once again :)

Well, it's a new day today.

We, Team Europe, have almost been beaten to death the last 2 days, but I think no one will say that Europe has had the best of the rolls so far. 2 balls that rolled different, and the score could have been 5-4.

I believe it is about to change, and I predict a strong, super-focused and determined Team Europe in the arena today. Today is do or die!

It is no more pressure on Team Europe's shoulders. No one expect Team Europe to win from here, USA have already won this event, in the viewers eyes. It's USA who have everything to lose now, and they know it.

The only question is, will they handle the pressure better than what Team Europe did on day 1 and day 2?

I'm ready! Bring it on! Let us see the American's fall apart, crying, shaking heads in disbelief! Please, bring me some joy!!!

I think I can finally see the light in the tunnel. (But with my luck it is probably just the huge front of a high-speed train speeding towards me with a smiling Hatch as the locomotive driver)

R:cool:Y

i had to send rep your way for being able to dish it out and take it. you're a bigger man than most. oh yes and.....USA USA USA:grin: thanks for being a good sport.

Archer's comeback from the 5 to 1 with Appleton has been one of the best comebacks that I remember in recent history. Right now, I give him the edge over Hatch for MVP but it isnt over yet. Shane had one of the best shots of the tourney with his play in the doubles when his partner got out of line. To be honest the whole team is showing HEART and makes me proud!

You make some great points. Archer's performance against Appleton is second to none! My God, that man can play. I once said that ANY of the great players OF THE WORLD, could probably get played in Atlanta, GA.

Someone else mentioned Johny's s coaching as well but I think the addition of Hatch is the chemistry that is making the U.S. Team hit on all cylinders.

The Europeans aren't slouches but you know, let's be honest, these short races don't tell the full story.

AND GOD HELP US, if the Europeans make a run at us. We surely won't be able to live with Roy.:grinning-moose: I would have to abstain from posting on AZ for a while because I know Roy would be on my one yard line.:grin:

Anyone know the current odds for Europe to win?

Id take Europe if i got 10-1

Nah scratch that- i want to root for us(a)!

Action in 14.1 for Mr. Appleton

And I am crossing my fingers, hoping that Darren Appleton will wait with the cigar till the last 9-ball is pocketed and that Niels Feijen won't spend all the $$ before they've actually managed to win...

Good luck guys!

The guy on top says he will play me a race to 1000 points of 14.1 for $, he is a great player and seems to be a solid guy also. I will play Darren Appleton this game just to clear up the rumors, no TAR involved this time just u and me Darren and a tight Diamond table with clean balls. Can I get a bump, I am getting bored here in MO Darrren they are building more bar tables and bars here in the Midwest as we speak, when are you coming to the States and if so can we make this game happen? I only ask cause I hear through the grape vine that your interested in playing, well you talk my kinda talk Darren. If you win then you can say that your keeping it gangsta' or is that how they say it? I do think you had better pack a lunch however cause this aint some intl. event where only special invites and friends of the good ol boy committee are invited.

I am willing to play this game, and I believe my backers words were I will make you play. I am allways interested in a big Straight Pool set against another top contender. So Mr. Appleton I just need one month to prepare, ok one week and I guess I will play since there twisting my arm.

Are we game Darren? You may pm me

Here is a thought for the streaming guys. I wonder if there is not a way to have a semi-private chat area for invited friends. Something like going to a tournament with a buddy. You and a few friends sit in the stands and talk quietly during the match.

Of course I would want to listen to someone like JoeyA and his guest but I don’t always want to wade through all the public chat stuff.

Seems there might be a need for two chat sessions while I watch the match.

Independent chat sessions such as JCIN suggested are a good idea. Maybe there is a need to expand on that with multiple windows on the screen.

Oh Yeah, I guess that is also called a forum Hmmm.

I dont even get that.

Maybe everyone was wrong and it doesnt start now.

I wish i could get soccer-yesterday just a perfect stream and today i get a black screen.

On Bet365 the book on the first match does not close until 2000gmt which is at the top of the coming hour. Maybe it does not start until 1200 in Las Vegas. I will text JCIN or Fatboy
