Equipment: 8 ft Brunswick drop pocket w/slow cloth, tear in felt towards foot string right corner pocket, a lil off center.... It's in the basement of a frat house, so it's beat to crap, but it's better than nothing.....

Drivermaker Scores for Cardinal2B

Equipment: Geez a lot of you folks are pretty precise. I'm doing this on 9' Brunswick Gold Crowns at my local pool room. I'm not certain of the pocket measurements, but the corners are just slightly wider than two balls. I'll try to get some calipers to update this factor later. :o

Comments:
Set 1 & Set 2: when I did my practice run at this a while back my results were better, but I was breaking from anywhere behind the headstring - I play a lot of 8-ball and am used to breaking from the side (trying to put the headball in the left side pocket), so I have developed pretty good control of where the cue ball will wind up. Breaking from the headspot has really proven difficult, not to spread the balls, but to control where the cueball winds up.
Set 1 & Set 2: I had to quit after the first 4 racks in set 2 to play league match. Too bad, because by this time I had kind of gotten into it, figuring out where I was going to be after the 7th and 8th balls to play the KB2KB and KB into the rotation section... The rather embarrassing zero is cause I got greedy on a layout; a cosmo was there if I started by making a little combo into the side pocket, but I missed because I sorta suck at combos and I was an idiot for trying!
Set 2 & Set 3: Finished up set 2, and three racks in set 3. A bit careless and inconsistent, no? Stopped worrying about setting up for the last 5 in rotation - well, that was a mistake (doh!). Feeling pressed for time, so rushing through these racks stupidly; need to think about playing less, scoring more...
Set 3 & Set 4: Did 5 of these at a Boston Billiards w/ - I think - easier pockets, but a different cue. Really didn't seem to make a difference. Took one penalty point on the 5th rack, that's why the 11 on that one. At this point it is looking like an average of 10 per rack, or 500 or so for the final outcome. My goal was 600, so I'm not that pleased. Probably over-estimating my own skill here - selective memory of only the better sessions distorting the reality!
Set 4 & Set 5: The reality being that I suck. Another uh,oh (00)! I'm going to do another round. Can't hurt. Much.
Set 6: Started another round weakly with a 3 (potted 4 balls, but took a penalty point to boot). I hope to finish this second round before this all ends, so I can maximize the mocking I am so clearly due. Had to stop to play league match after hitting a 20. Damn.

Please elaborate. If you counted it as a miss, how did you only lose one point?

isn't in the first ten balls if you miss you minus one point, like if broke didn't make anything then start making balls like i made five balls then miss my sixth ball i would minus one point, then when i only have five balls left on the table i would have 9 points, then made the rest of the five balls which will result in 19 points. If i am wrong here correct me on how this goes and i will readd the scores. Sorry for that if i had done it wrong. Cole.

Oh i see, i read it wrong, it says a missed shot the rack is over there is no second chances sorry guys. So this means my 2 19's should be 9's. I will edit the scores.

Standard 4 1/2' x 9' Diamond Pro with 4 9/16" pocket openings.

Game 1 - 10, 12, 9, 18, 1, 11, 10, 20, 3, 7 = 101
Game 2 - 20, 10, 10, 9, 7, 20, 12, 10, 3, 12 = 113
Game 3 - 18, 12, 10, 20, 12, 16, 12, 9, 14, 20 = 143
Game 4 - 12, 20, 7, 17, 20, 16, 9, 7, 6, 18 = 132
Game 5 - 14, 20, 3, 19, 20, 5, 20, 14, 20, 1 = 136

Total points = 625
5 game average = 125

I felt like I was getting better after the first couple games. You sure feel stupid taking a harder shot and missing early in the rack. :(

Todd.

Lww,

First, you can just edit the post instead of posting a new one each time.
Second, fix your last entry, it got messed up in rack 10. LOL 255 is pretty strong out of 200. ;) PEACE!

D-man,
Yes it is good to just edit your post each time new scores are available (or even new 50 rack sessions if you are a fanatic).

It looks like LWW was keeping a RUNNING total which is okay.

Keep going LWW, you're doing fine.

Hello.

Guys, I'm embarrassed, but have to be honest and post my pathetic scores as of today. First try ever...

Equipment: 9ft Olympic table, same as those used at many Eurotour events

S1: 0, 1, 20, 9, 1, 12, 20, 12, 18, 5 - 98
S2: 1, 0, 16, 7, 2, 16, 8, 2, 16, 7 - 75
S3: 20, 11, 7, 0, 12, 4, 8, 7, 20, 1 - 90
S4: 14, 10, 8, 10, 20, 10, 12, 4, 7, 2 - 97
S5: 7, 4, 5, 6, 4, 12, 10, 4, 7, 0 - 59

Overall 98+75+90+97+59=419

I'm winning the title for most inconsistant player and for sure worst mental part of the game too.

The ability is there, but it never shows when it counts...LOL.

Very good for first try, i have a question, did you practice first or go into cold. And i know you have to be brutally honest with yourself and the scoring but makes it a good test for scoring yourself. I love the game. Thinking of giving a second time around. Cole.

my bad

I shot a few balls before trying...i was cold, but not stone cold. Anyway, it's a rather long session, so I didn't think it would make much of a difference.

I scored 0 on my first rack, and wanted to start all over, because it was just a hiccup, right? But little voice in my head was telling me "no cheating". I would only be cheating myself. You really need to be honest with yourself, or all of this does not make sense.

As for the game. I really like it...harder to score 20 points like this than it is to runout a 9ball rack. A mixture between 14.1 and 9ball runout tactics. From now on, this game becomes my regular practice routine.

I did something yesterday I didn’t realize could be done until I did it. I broke a rack and didn’t like the cueball position so I put it in the kitchen and missed my first shot. I got a -1 for the rack!! It was a horrible showing yesterday but that’s the breaks.

Breakdown,
Dang, that's cold. I think perhaps your avatar kind of sums things up, perhaps if you removed the sunglasses, it would be easier.

I’m training my new seeing eye dog to run balls like FLs wonder dog. But he’s not quite there yet. I’m still playing by sense of smell.

I'm sorry for your loss, poor Sam! I read that he died not too long ago...
