Olathe Starts Today!!

1 Pocket

At what time does the 1 Pocket tournament pick back up today?

And also, there should be ACTION going on? Need an action report...

I'm looking forward to all the reports. This is pool at its finest, American style. I hope this is the first of many more to come. This is what folks seem to enjoy, which is why thousands of pool enthusiasts, players, and fans flock to Louisville each January to attend the Derby City Classic.

No church-like setting or robotic players with Buckingham Guard personalities, no half-naked women with deformed surgically-enhanced breasts on flyers used for advertisement. This is the real deal, right here on American soil. It just goes to show that if you build it, they will come. It is heart-warming to see American pool thrive in this manner in Olathe.

Hope the vBookie puts up some lines soon! :)

For that matter; who is Carl Bolm and 10,000$? WTF?
"hey I won the power ball 5 years ago for 200 mil. any takers for 20K a game"?

No powerball. He is from St Louis & is a high stakes gambler. All road players know of him. Guess you don't. He likes to play a race to 5 for $5000 just to see how you play. Race to 7 for $10,000 was a stretch to that.

WOW!!
Yeah, unless he goes to the southeast often I would never have heard of him if he lays low. I am always amazed at the amounts of $$ people just throw out there to play on. I try, but here is where my poor man's mentality comes from:
If I make $52,300 yearly, after taxes, housing, car, insurances, food, medical, child expenses, retirement, student loans, entertainment, etc... I am lucky to pocket 200 or so a month left over, risking 5-10K on a night, I would be just about dead before I recovered from that (if I lost).

I hear you there. I feel like I make a pretty good living but could not imagine putting up the cash like they do on one set.

It is certainly a lot of fun to watch the action though and put a little sweat bet just to make it interesting. Lots of fun as long as it is not my money on the line.

Of course I don't think my game would hold up very well for $Thousands$ per set. I guess that is why I prefer to play in tournaments. That way I can still feed the family.

The action is still one of the reasons why I love the game. Even though I am not in the action myself, it is fun to observe.

Peace, Joe

The only name I heard was Duff(?). The amount is 10 LARGE. Carl is leading the 2nd set also.

Tanner, what & how were Duff and Carl playing and on what tables? Can we get a last name for Duff or maybe where he is from?
Thanks for the reports.

Hey, where is Cliff ???

You know, I had forgotten about Cliff Joyner. You'd think Mr. One Pocket himself wouldn't have missed this one for all the tea in China! :)
