Who do you take in the calcutta:
Blind: Corey Deuel
1st: Jesse Bowman
2nd: SVB

Pool?

Anywhere to get a list of players?

I dont know them all but I wouldn't buy Jesse no matter what. This should
be an elite field. Just because the table is smaller doesnt mean that the big name guys CANT play on them.

I think Orcullo, Buddy and SVB are my choices until I see a complete list.

Hillbilly's break could come into play as well with it being 10 ball.

For some reason I just think Buddy will do well in this event.

i'll take

cory first blind
2nd i have to say shane because i beleive he is gonna break well
3rd i'm just gambling and takin gabe.i have no idea how he's playin i'm just pickin

player list

Svb
Buddy Hall
Gabe Owen
Dave Matlock
Joe Grey
Jeremy Jones
James Walden
Scotty Townsend
Jesse Bowman
Chad Vilmont
Corey Deuel
Jamie Baracks
Dennis Orcullo
Warren Kiamco
Jose Parica
Shane Mcminn
Jeff Melton
Charlie Bryant

Man, any of those guys can take it off, if the break and patterns start falling in their favor. Remember, there isn't much defense in a ring game. Walden is my 20-1 man. Slow and steady. Wish I could be there.

18 players: 15 Americans and 3 Filipinos. Interesting field and format.

With 10-ball, bar box, it will be a whole different ball game when compared to 9-ball. I believe most, if not all, of the names on that list are capable of winning. It's a tough pick.

If I were a betting woman, though, I think I'd go with Dave Matlock. He's familiar with this equipment, being that it's his hometown pool room, so that does give him a slight edge, in a way. AND everybody knows that Dave Matlock is a bar table phenom. So he's got two feathers in his cap!

My heart, though, goes out to Buddy Hall. After all these years, he's still in this industry, giving it his all, and I cannot think of a more deserving winner.

Oh, well, may the best player win. I can't wait to read all about it! :D

Walden's my pick to snap it off. I will be there on Saturday, possibly Friday night.

Anyone (that's not a world beater) going, and want to play me some cheap sets?

buddy

deserving and very capable.hell he doesn't have to miss anything for days.if he plays as perfect position on the box as he does on the big track,HE WON"T.i wish i could go watch for sure.

I'll bet the calcutta hits record proportions. Please someone update us who are a thousand miles away! Thanks.

You have got to post that info for us that can't get out there. I live through the eyes of AZ and now the actionreport.

Actually the one pocket begins tonight. The ring game doesn't begin until Friday night. They still might fill up the field :)

I would not count out the old Rifleman in this style of event.

I'm certain that many of Buddy's fans from Central Florida will be pulling for him, including me. The problem is that Buddy's once powerful break has deserted him in 9 ball and 10 ball. It seems that he also has a stamina problem lately. While I've bought Buddy a few times in the calcuttas, I'm leaning towards Corey Deuel and Dennis Orcullo. Of course the bartables may make a big difference here and Buddy is still a great run out artist....

(of course Buddy is ALWAYS a threat in one-pocket )

Good Luck Quad Cities

He may be a dark horse in most peoples eyes but Chad Vilmont has won I believe the last 3 tournaments he has entered and Jessie is 1 of the best shot makers on the planet which in my opinion is of great use in a ring game format and Jamie Baraks is one of the most intense players I have ever played. Sorry but gotta stick with my home town players.

yep

yeah chad won a pretty big tourny up in that area not too long ago didn't he.I don't think i've ever seen him play but I beleive I'm safe to say he belongs in that battle.

ron is right. vilmont won the olathe event 3 weeks ago. jesse is looking like he did 3 years ago. which means everybody should be scared and baraks has never lost a ring game tourney as he won both of the mobile al. ring game events.

i have said it before but the quad cities has per capita the best talent in the country.

2 pro tour rookie of the years + jesse and vilmont and dont forget jesse's brother. he is a champ too
