Hello all,
I am WH, I am in the process of restoring a Brunswick Victor pool table that has been in my family home since the late 50's.
My Dad had an oil furnace installed in our house, in 1958 or 59, I was six years old. We were outside looking at the old coal furnace parts that had been removed, he said, "Son, it will cost me $100 to get rid of this junk". At that time a car pulls up and a friend of his gets out and says, "Hey Herb, I have been looking for a coal furnace, Dad told me to go inside...
The friend had a pool room in Fayetteville WV, that he had closed, and had three 8' pool tables. He traded Dad the best table he had for the coal furnace, plus $100. The cash covered the set up and recovering. The table has in the picture below, the late 50's covering.
This is what it looked like when I brought it to Kentucky Memorial day weekend, 2016.

I have been working on it since, the wood of the table has been re veneered because of three or four hundred cigarette burns on the frame and rails.
It was veneered with white oak originally, I found some beautiful White Oak with tiger stripped flake.
It now has all wood parts finished and I am working on patching the slate.
I have been making a few accessories and re finishing some of the old ones..
New pool cue rack.
New triangle rack and 9 ball rack.
Restoring the original pool cue rack that came with the table.
This is an ongoing project, I hope to finish it soon, but I am not on a time schedule. It will be done when it is done!
I enjoy restoring items, I finished restoring a 1980 Jeep J-10 Honcho SportSide Truck in 2013, which is my daily driver now. It was My Dad's last truck.
