Old Guy KO At The Pool Hall

I'm confused... not the first time, trust me.....

The "old" guy to me appears to be the guy who threw the two punches.... his face, his hair and even the way he "shuffled" tells this guy is at least 60... maybe more... video was grainy....

The punchee (is that a word ?) appears to be antagonzing the puncher... The puncher looks like he backed away a few times,, and the punchee is trying to get right up in his face.....and finally gets to close, and the puncher takes a punch.... and then a second...

Obviously, there is never a need to throw a punch unless someone physically puts their hands on you... no amount of name calling is adequate to throw a punch... the whole sticks and stones thing....

And yes, if this guy had called the cops right after, and they showed up, they most likely would have arrested the puncher....

But still difficult to understand the argument anyways....

More than sad. What was saddest was all the pu$$y railbirds jawing the guy after he got hit. Lots of heroes in the world.

Lawsuit? I doubt it.

Any lawyer would take the case I would bet. Video evidence?

First thing you do is go to an ER then get a referral to a plastic surgeon.

Face?

If there is even the slightest scar any lawyer will be drooling. Facial injuries that you can sue for are golden.

Concussion? Yup. He was out. That's a brain injury by definition.

I want a neuro consult too.

Pain and suffering? Add onto that lifelong bouts with headaches and neck pain, maybe someday he gets seizures or Alszheimers. Post Traumatic? Lots of therapy and medication for years.

Very life altering and expensive.

I am betting they wouldn't just sue the guy throwing the punch...but also the establishment...the guy with the camera...the person that uploaded the video...anybody and everybody possible.

The best one would be the establishment because they have insurance.

Yup.....and the merit of the case does not matter either. They'll be happy enough to settle out of court.

Pretty simple really.

Criminal? Oh yeah...that too. Pretty certain.

"Your Honor, he put his hand on me so I bashed his face in and injured his brain. That's how it works right? I get to do whatever I want to him short of killing him if he bothered me." Yeah....that will go over real well.

I think any half decent lawyer could make his mortgage payment, Mercedes payment, boat payment, and take a short vacation on this one without ever stepping into a court room.

But that's just what I think....
.

Seeing as how the railbirds were too loud and instigating the punching, I thought I could hear the victim say something about laying his hands on him to the assaulting party. This means there was further instigation previous to the recording. So not knowing if the victim was demanding an apology for a previous physical altercation is unknown. Now the heckling railbirds just add further demeanor to the situation. The assault was apparent, but to heckle the man after he hit the ground and not rp step in shows the mentality of todays society which is not caring of other peoples well being. The second punch wasn't needed as the victim was stumbling away and the guy in the red shirt pushing the victim out of crowd and probably out the door on his @$$ adding a second assault. What I am surprised at and can't tell from the video is did somebody pull the assaulting party to the side?

At any event, this was not something to help the billiard society as a whole to achieve recognition in a positive light.

This poolroom is breakers in mobile alabama and the KO artist is a 60+ local player.( i wont mention his name because he is a friend but ya'll should be able to figure it out) he actually is a great guy, he must have really been getting agravated by the person he hit. take care

look closely...

It looks like the guy that got knocked out had a taser in his hand that he was trying to hide from the guy and then he displays it right before he gets hit???

I just meant by "great guy" that he really had to be pushed to do this. All we see are the punches, who knows what happened or was said to cause this. The man that got punched is from mobile and must know that the puncher was a golden gloves champion back in his prime. Just answered the question of where this happened, wasnt defending anyone.

For a 60+ year old, he's got a well-oiled pimp slap. I bet he gets all the ladies. Respect.

The first thing the Attorney would consider is who to sue and how much is available. While the guilt of the "puncher" may be unquestionable, his net worth may be negligible. When you move onto the business itself, it starts to get rather cloudy as to the responsibility or guilt of the pool hall. Given the number of pool halls going out of business in the past decade, it may be safe to assume the assets of the pool hall may not be that great. Low assets often equal little or no insurance coverage, this is one of the areas cut out first when a business is struggling with cash flow.

Perhaps you have different real life personal/professional experience with law suits than I've had. I've seen it from both sides, up front and personal/professional. I've never seen it as cut and dried as you would describe it in your post, not even close. Most Attorneys won't consider taking on a civil case on contingency unless there is a reasonably large settlement available and it is a virtual lock.

I'll give you that he had good form!

It looked like the guy was already pissed about being touched, then he got in grandpa's grill with a dare to touch him again. He looks to even put his hands behind his back, sorta daring grandpa to touch him again. It took a couple of seconds for the blood to get over to grandpa's pimpin' hand, then POW.

I could be wrong though.

While I don't think people should hit each other in general. I think that guy had it coming.

I have been in that situation several times where someone keeps hassling me and getting in my space no matter how nicely I tell them to buzz off. I've never done what the guy did but I can see how he got to that point. Especially if the guy was drunk - which he appeared to be.

Unfortunately he does have a good case for a lawsuit and will end up suing the guy, the bar, the landlord and probably google and facebook.

The guy in the crowd, incidentally, counting to see if he was down for the count. Not dissing him or 'facing' him.

Seems like everybody there knew the story and knew the guy who got decked and felt like he had it coming.

I dont know what happen before the first punch was thrown, but there should of never been a 2nd punch , that man was out on his feet, it was over and all those fuc____ punks standing around acting like bad asses, that the ones i would of knocked out!

A true fighter or bouncer or whom ever, you dont hit a man when he is down and out, i know when ever i got done fighting someone, i would shake their hand when it was all over(or atlease i would try) you got to draw the line somewhere, you dont fight someone to kill them!
