Old Guy KO At The Pool Hall

Isn't there sometimes a Good Samaritan law that says if you idly stand by while a crime takes place you can be prosecuted?
 
I have been to this room a few times and have met the man in the video who is an ex boxer. He seemed pretty cool and calm when I met him at Breakers when Frost and I were in that area for action. It is no secret the guy is a former boxer and believe me if people know you have been a fighter you will get people trying to test you or talk a bunch of smack, Even Mike Tyson has had it happen to him, I chalk it up to people being idiots and thinking they can't get touched. I do not agree with sucker punching someone putting out my hand to shake it which is what happened or even hitting someone over words unless its someone disrespecting a women you care for. During the day Breakers is a totally different place then the weekend night times that is for sure.
 
Okay now that I've seen it on a computer it looks like sunglasses in his hands. Another thing is the putting the hand out to shake had nothing to do with whether he could land that punch or not.

Also anytime you see people knocked out on youtube someone will quote the famous line from the movie, "Friday" Which is, "You got knocked the f*** out!"

There is no way anyone could be charged with the good samaritan law in this instance as they had 2 seconds in which the crime started and ended.

He looks to even put his hands behind his back, sorta daring grandpa to touch him again. It took a couple of seconds for the blood to get over to grandpa's pimpin' hand, then POW.

Why even give this any cause for celebration.Why post it at all?It's pure crap.It's not fun or funny.A lawsuit should hit this room hard.

Only read a few posts but had to comment on the wannabe lawyers..... my wannabe judge comment is any judge will look at the video, and declare both parties as idiotic, and throw them both out of his courtroom.

Btw, did you guys check out the video on that site of the dancing girl... ;)
 
This room has definately changed a ton in the last few years do to a "hip hop" night club directly next door. But in the past and during the tournaments that they have, there has been hundreds of thousands of dollars change hands. I went there for a 4-day tournament in 2004 and ended up staying 5 months because the action was so good. It is hard to believe how this place has changed in the last few years but i guess pool in general has changed for the worse also. I know back then it was common to win or lose 3-7 dimes daily, thats why i couldnt leave. But i couldnt feel comfortable carrying that kind of cash after watching that. Im not even sure if ricky byrd still owns the place, im pretty sure that he wouldnt allow things like this to happen if he did. I hope the man that got hit is not seriously hurt, i hate to see that sort of thing.
 
Physical confrontation is a part of life. Countries go to war, sometimes someone needs to be punched in the mouth. Worse things have happened.
 
Actually the most damaging part of that beatdown was his head bouncing off the floor. Which is usually what kills people in a fist fight. This is why you extract yourself from situations like this. The guy that got hit may have have instigated the fight....but the old boxer will have no leg to stand on in criminal or civil court....and believe me his boxing past will be seriously bite him in his ass and his wallet.

I hope the instigator is at the emergency room getting checked out thoroughly....I wouldn't be suprised if he has at least a concussion and possibly some form of brain bleeding/trauma. If that crowd of people would of been peacemakers....nothing would of happened. Unfortunately they clearly influenced the old boxer into hitting the instigator. This was really a pathetic situation...........

I don't want to get into a pissing match....but your comment couldn't be farther from the truth.

I have to say , I have seen Cleary do some pushups bur never influence any old boxers. :eek:
