Thank you for sharing the pictures. I've never seen any of them before I don't believe. Johnnyt

Scott was a smart guy, taking pictures with all those guys. I was around all the players and rarely took any photos. My bad!
P.S. That's Jimmy Moore and Boston Shorty in the last photo. Believe it or not I can name every player pictured here.

Tremendous pictures, thanks a million. I reconize most, but not all. Jay thanks for the Boston Shorty ID.
I may have even looked young at that time.
BHQ if you don't mind give a run down of names. I am going to print these to hang in my game room. Just FanF'ingTastic.

I remember back in the 80's when Scotty ran a set on Nick Varner. Afterwards someone asked Nick what he did wrong. He said" I guess I dogged the flip"!

just more hot air!

I still see him every once in awhile. I believe he is living in the Quad Cities area in eastern Iowa. Just started playing again about 4 years ago. Someone from that area could probably get you some contact info.

The only one that I can't remember is the guy with the Afro in the second picture. I'm sure I should know him but damned if I can put a name to the face. Help someone?

Tall, skinny Dave Yeager. Pretty good player from the Midwest. I think he was from Iowa or Missouri.

Yes, Scott's still alive. He was in a $10 tournament in downtown Cedar Rapids that I played in a few weeks ago. Race to 2, 8ball. :)

I wanted to ask him and never got a chance... he used to hang out with a guy named Steve Mannici (I'm sure I butchered the spelling) back in the mid-80s. Does anyone know what happened to him?

Dave Yeager came to a tourney in Mishawaka, In.,,, back around this time. I talked with him for a few minutes, and he asked if we'd wake him up when the tourney gets ready to start. He crawled under the Gold Crown next to ours, and went to sleep. He had been in Wisconsin at a tourney, and drove all night to get there, He slept about 2 hours, and got up to win the tourney.

As for Scott, I watched him play quite a few times, and he played some good pool. Even after getting creamed by a semi, in a car wreck, he still played pretty good pool.

Great pictures of all those guys. Thanks for posting them.

That's the guy I was just thinking of, I think it's spelled Mannicia, but not sure. I watched beating Sigel at Starchers Billirds, in Ohio, in 1985..... Had Sigel 9 to 2, and never won another game. He had about 4 or 5 good opportunities, and just couln't run out. Luat, Reyes, and Parica were there. But Strickland won it I believe.

Scott is still around. He plays in a few local tournaments around here during the year. Now that it's cooling off and leagues have once again started, more tournaments will be happening and Scottie will be more visible. He's a likable guy and still hits them pretty good.

We used to play on the same league team many years ago. I once pulled a pretty good trick on him that got a lot of laughs.

He was once sponsored by Schon Cues and always used a really nice looking Schon. He never let go of it during leagues, even when we had those cue holder thingy's that you clamp to a table...always held his cue. Anyway, after leagues one night, he got distracted while playing video bowling or something with some other guys. He leaned his cue in the corner...first time I ever saw him set it down. I causually walked over to it, held it in my hand, with my body beteen it and Scott, dropped a house cue in the floor...everybody knows that sound...and said OPPS really loud. Scott came unglued. He thought I had dropped his cue. What a sight watching him run across the room to retreive his cue from the floor. And the curse words flowed from his mouth like water out of a shower. Then the look on his face when he realized that it was only a trick. He still cussed me out but the laughter was great...I still don't know if everybody was laughing at the gag of at Scott yelling at me. It was good.

I haven't actually seen him since last winter. I was out of town during that tournament that Karla mentioned, but I'm sure I'll be seeing him again soon. I'll copy all of these pictures and give them to him. He might have some but he may not.

Thanks for the post...Ken
