Mr. Hill still builds cues the old fashioned way, no CNC for him. All by hand and absolutely breathtaking. I'm glad to see him back in the game, and better than ever at building beautiful as well as fantastic playing cues. Darrin is probably the best in the country for a high end players cue.

Thanks, everyone for all the great comments . It feels good to be back , I had a tuff ruff time this spring after I broke two bones in my lower back . thanks Ralf for hanging in there while I was heeling up. building this cue was one of my biggest challenge cue wise ever . it had me stomped ''that Ralf'' he brought a challenge my way , Gotta love it!!! so about the cue , please let me elaborate. first off a double full splice with 9 veneers on top 7 on the bottom and a butterfly spliced shaft. I went with this because Brunswick did both kinds of splices and I wanted to showcase both on this cue. the butt sleeve has 8 boxed windows with that miter in the corner and over laps two silver rings. they were put in on an angle to give that oval effect , also they over lap each other.ringwork is ivory rings and silver 1/32 dots with the veneers overlapping it this was time consuming .I will post some of the build in progress. thanks D Hill

Hills cues

Beautiful cue Ralf. Every aspect of the design is cool and unique!

And thanks for showing the 'in progress' pics. Really neat seeing this amazing creation come to life.

Darren is proving himself to be a very good cue maker
this particular cue is outstanding
so much work,yet tasteful

its unique but classic

This cue is absolutely stellar in every way: Choice of woods, veneer selection, design, execution, JPs, and, I am sure, playability.

Simply stunning. Thanks for the progress pictures....

I want one!

Outstanding looking cue !!!!!!!!!!!!
I hadn't seen it, just came from Darrin's and he told me about it. Had to take a look see. all I can say is wow.

!!!!! How the hell did I miss this thread???
This cue is simply magnificent!! In one month I've seen 3 of the most gorgeous cue that I've seen...amazing...first zinozola blew me away with the cue he did for tattoo, then Scott Gracio threw the bomb few days back with the Brunswick tribute, now this??!! Just amazing work...its cues like this that tells me to spend money on modern generation cue makers as opposed to "branded" old cues...

Ralf...I really envy u...you've got bloody nice cue cases for your amazingly gorgeous cues, carried by your beautiful Thai girls transported in your annoying hot ride!!! Need a friend on Facebook? ;) promise I'll be your bestest friend....

I think I should commission you to design me a cue buddy...

????

Nice cue............... now For the the big question if not the most important how does it play ????

So Folks, after I have shot hundreds of Balls with it here the review:
with the normal Shaft it plays very stiff with good Feedback, with the spliced Shaft is plays much better:confused: not so stiff and moves the Cueball easy around the table, the different between the two shafts is the normal Shaft is as you drive first time a Ferrari and the sliced Shaft is as normal Ford :D you can drive with all but the Ford is easy and comfortable.
As for the work is Top and the selection of Wood is insane.
So I will make better Pics in the Sun when I have time, the Cue looks much better in REAL.
So order your new Darrin Cue before the List is to long.
Ralf:thumbup:
