shes great,im buddies with her and shes super smart.
also i luved that pic of shane cleaning the balls. i get alot of flak from people but shanes doin it so maybe im not crazy afterall.
i havent played pool in 2 months but if dechaine would play me anything where the break is negated i would play him.
14.1 ,one pocket,or snooker,or even 10bal ghostl,one pocket ghost.
i dont have a great break plus i think pool should be decided by ball pocketing, position play, safes, kicking etc not who has a good break.
i dont think he wants any part of that but i hope so

How do you play One pocket ghost???

howdy y'all

We had touchscreen phones with all sounds turned off.

My friend was online shopping because the match got boring for her at that point. She came to watch a close-fought match and did not expect it to be so one-sided. One may be a serious player and still be bored with a match. Although I was at the match both days, my two friends were only there for the second day.

I post online updates at every TAR match I attend, but I do encourage everyone to purchase the stream. I don't do play-by-play updates for this reason. I update every 4 games until one player is within 5 games of winning, then every 1 or 2 until the end. Both TAR and CSI know I do this -- I asked for their permission before doing so.

If Mr. Dechaine had not done what he did, I would not have written what I wrote.

My other TAR write-ups are quite tame. Is this particular write up immature as all hell? You bet. It, and all of my writing, is not intended to have any literary merit.

I have played livestreamed action matches, including once on TAR (long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away). Won one, lost one, both times were amazing experiences. This is why I said I understood the pressure he felt and why I sympathized with him.

Not everyone likes my style of writing and that is fine. We all like what we like, and certainly we do not all like the same things. Variety is the spice of life.

Well Melinda missed some good stuff in my opinion.

There was no mention of the instance where, Mike was aleady getting drilled and Shane shot a jump shot , Mike said "I realize it's a little late in the match but is he allowed to use 2 jump cues?". That must be why Shane was winning, because he used two jump cues!

Then, Shane was sitting in his chair, Mike at the table, accused him of moving. I don't even think Mike was down on a shot. Shane said "I didn't move" Mike said "yes you did". Guess what? The only thing that we saw moving was the smirk.

Here's a lesson: If you're a professional and don't want to be mocked, act like a professional, like Shane. You never hear Shane saying or doing stuff like that. His mind is on the game, not on anything else. Mike seems to have lost before the first break.

Earl does the exact same stuff, although he can handle the pressure of tough matches better at times. Yet everyone loves Earl.

Yet everyone loves Earl.

This definitely isn't true.

I really think Dechaine gets a bad rap, though. Is he cocky? Of course. But I find him to be generally likable, almost always honest, and a good presence for pool on the whole.

Too bad about the truck stop pool table.

Now, I would like to hear more about a streamed SNOOKER match between JS and MD or anyone. Would not only would it be entertaining to watch great pool players struggle on a snooker table, it would also be enlightening in many ways.

Great Read!!! I laughed my A$$ off. I am sure if my friend ( Chris Banks) were to read that he would give you an ear full because he actually thinks Mike D. is a great ambassador of Pool.. I on the other hand loved it and have just become a fan... Thank You!!

I have a problem with what's at the center of this "humorous" writing by omgwtf.

There's no denying that she can be funny, that's for sure.

Meanspirited, too. And if she possessed a little more specific information, maybe she wouldn't be quite as proud of herself over this literary accomplishment of hers.

But all that to the side, it sounds like things between them, MD & OMG, went sideways as a result of her and her friends going beyond being mere spectators at the match, they became part of the show.

IMO, if you are so disinterested in a match that you are now becoming a distraction to one of the players because you feel compelled to go shopping on your phone, I think it's time for you to leave. That behavior, I believe, was from a friend sitting with OMG.

And to OMG, herself, who said she was simply relaying the scores of the match on her phone, as if this should excuse her also being a distraction, to that I say, tell the cheap recipients of your kindness to BUY THE EFFING PAY PER VIEW AND THEY'LL KNOW THE SCORE! You know, support pool.

To be sure, Mike has some adjustments to make in how he comports himself, but he knows that and is working on it. But does his behavior rise to the level that he should be subjected to this sort of humor, seemingly straight out of 7th-grade, where substance requires constant embelleshment by way of head-size references? BTW, and worth noting imo, is that all that doesn't seem to slow down the pretty girls from wanting to hang out with him. :)

Apparently, it's not always enough to attend an event and share the experience with your readers. Sometimes you have to become part of the story, yourself.

I suppose a blogger's got to do what a blogger's got to do.

I think there's room for more than one person to do a little personal introspection.

I'm well aware that my opinion may not be popular but, like MD, I have thick skin, so bring it.

brian kc

You sir are not alone. The cool kids just get to pump up their weak egos by knockung others.
Mike handles himself a lot better than I would. I would take the cell phone right out of your hand. The next time I would smash it to pieces.

This girl has no clue what it takes to make it as a pool player or a writer.

Everyone compares Mike to Earl, but here's my question.... what is Mike like away from the table? Still a *****? I've spoken to Earl several times, and there's no shortage of people who will attest to this, he's one of the nicest people on the planet when he's not under the heat.

This makes no sense to me. Zero. You seriously mean to tell me, that if you're in the middle of a match, you have such a lack of focus to your game that you would look into the crowd for someone to pick on, and then you would destroy someone's property? you're playing a match. focus on your match, not what everyone else is doing. and she's not writing for the new york times, it's an internet blog. If you want journalism and propriety, go where there's journalism and propriety.

After that, we can watch a MLB team play some cricket, an NFL team play rugby, and some pro bowlers playing nine pin.

Personally, I prefer seeing the pros do what they do best.

If it was me and my phone you would be picking your teeth up off the ground.

Chances are you would get the same result from OMG.

Your lack of focus is your problem. No one elses.

Make sure to post what it is like playing pool for the first time outside of your basement.
