On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

it was great to see my old friend. One of the best players in the Midwest over the 70's 80's and 90's.

He shot pretty well also tonight at Two Stooges. .

I came through the winners bracket and Greg came through the losers. I watched and saw him play with the same precision that he did 15 years ago.

Finally it was only Greg and myself left. He had to beat me twice in a race to 7. Alternate breaks.

Ty Wilson pulled up a chair to watch. He knew he was seeing something special and Greg didn't disappoint Ty or myself for that matter.

It was like 2 prize fighters trading punches. Back in the old days we just tried to keep each other in the chair be running racks. Now with alternate break it's a whole new game.

Each time Greg broke the corner ball would pop in and I just had to pray that something was tied up.

Each time I broke I know Greg was praying also.

After trading punches back and forth and the score tied 5-5 Greg had a chance to get on the hill. After a safety battle that lasted about 5 or 6 shots Greg had a chance to run out and get on the hill.

He hit the 1 ball a little too hard and got hooked. Kicked real good but gave me a shot.

Being up 6-5 I still knew the battle was still on. One thing Greg Fix is, is a grinder. it ain't over til it's over for sure.

We played some safes back and forth with Greg winning the safe battle. All he had to do was shoot the 8 ball straight in and draw back about 2 feet for the 9 ball.

He miscued hopping the cue ball over the 8 ball and into the pocket.

I almost felt like, You can't do that and cheat us out of playing on the hill. In the bottom to the top of my heart I really thought that game was over and the hill hill gave was inevitable.

After the final I went up to Greg and told him that I use the KiTech medium tips on my playing cue and my break cue. The one I put on my break cue I've never touched in almost a year and the one on my playing cue is about 7 months old and plays great to this day. I didn't miscue. .;

I gave him a tip and I also gave Ty Wilson one to try.

I am so looking forward to playing against Greg in more of these weekly tournaments.

Next time he won't miscue. That KiTech tip will get it done.

Hil Hill. It's going to happen. That's what it's all about.

I remember Greg Fix well. Excellent straight pool player!! Saw him play in LaCrosse and Madison a few times. What is he doing these days besides the obvious playing pool? I know he used to be a computer programmer at IBM and resigned from that job to play the pro tour but that was way back. I hope life is going well for him!

Regards,

Randy

Agreed as well, if open tourney anyone should be allowed to play. Tell you one thing that I've seen quite a few times and it does piss me off. This is in regards to a local bar by me that had a nice little weekly 9 ball tourney for years. I've never had this problem personally cause this was my go-to watering hole anyways. But it was an "open tournament" and depending on if you were friends with the owner of the bar dictated if ya got to play or not. I'm not gonna put anyone on blast but there are few legit pros that frequent the place and basically take turns robbing every week ( keep in mind average weekly 1 st place about $100 give or take ). No problem. Then there are people that def play decent BUT NO WHERE NEAR these pros I mentioned but aren't good buddies with the owner and are told they can't play cause " they're too good " lol
Can't you just not play in the tournaments until the "few legit pros that frequent the place and basically take turns robbing every week" go somewhere else?
They won't hang around long it the "food supply" runs out.
Seems like a simple thing to do......or is it?

I remember seeing Greg in the L.A. area in the mid 90's. It was either at the Bicycle Club or Hollywood Park. Glad to read that he is doing OK.

As I said it actually never personally bothered me because one I was friends with everyone and two I enjoyed the opportunity to play them AND I welcomed the challenge - I can not say that everyone felt the same as me though. In regards to waiting them out - not so much. First they were local guys from the area. Second it seems we get / have a lot of guys like that from our area. Lastly all the " usual suspects " would go and hit up every weekly tournaments on different days like clockwork - it was obvious they were all doing this as a way of supporting themselves - which BTW is fine with me but it just back to the topic of this discussion because of the commemts made. But yes, all of these " pros " would be at all of these local weekly tournaments like " flies on stank " lol. So much in fact if XXXX didn't show up for a tournament everybody would joke and say " oh sh_t, XXXX didn't go and get himself locked up did he?" Lol

Had to go to Winona tonight.......

Got a young man named Xavior that called me today. I met him in Nekoosa about 3 months ago. He's going to play in the Junior Nationals next Monday. He's 17. He's been trying to get up to Minneapolis for about a month.

I'm heading up to Jimmy's Billiards to practice some,{ to get ready to club some more animals} and I had to stop and call Xavior. I asked him if he was free tonight and if he was I would drive to Winona to work with him some more.

He sounded surprised and said ya, come on over.

I got there about 10:30 and met him at this little billiards club in Winona. I gave about 3 or 4 lessons there about 4 years ago.

Xavior aims with only one eye like John Morra. When I showed him this in Nekoosa he was pretty surprised. once he knew this we could manually get that eye in the correct position in the preshot Come down on the shot and get the stance right and the stroke right also. Also had to move his hand back on the stick. We worked on many things.

Anyway, when we were done he has some good stuff to work on until he makes his trip to Nationals. This is a once in a lifetime experience for him and it would have been real tough for me not to help him.

And by the way Johnny, I didn't charge him. He just has to give me his first child:rolleyes:, just kidding I hope you know.

I just got back about 1/2 hour ago.

I sure wish I had about a month to work with him.

A friend of mine, Ida Brick that passed away about 20 years ago went to college back in the day where few women ventured to go.

She was like my second mother. Also was the mother of one of my best friends, George Brick. he has also passed.

She told me something that has stuck in my mind for all these years.

She told me that if you can do something for someone and expect absolutely nothing in return then you really did something pretty special.

Thank you Ida Brick You were so right.........:angel2::angel::grin-angelic:

Greg is doing great for sure.........

He's played at Two Stooges for about 3 weeks now and still lives in the Rochester Area so it's about a 1 1/2 hour drive.

I drove 2 hours each day that I came up here to play for a long time myself so I understand he really wants to start competing again.

I heard he drove down to Olathe for a tourney there a little while back.

He looked pretty sharp so I know he's not just whistling Dixie but practicing to play this good already.

We're all pool addicts to a certain extent. If we leave the game we always seem to come back.

Greg Fix is no exception. And he's such an inspiration for young and upcoming players. One of the true gentleman of the game.

Good to have Greg back where he belongs................back home on the pool table.:thumbup:

Gene's still doing just what you used to do....

I don't HATE you. I just don't swallow all your BS like some others on here. Don't forget I've been around the block a few times myself. If you wouldn't brag every week about clubbing 95% baby seals in the tournaments, I would say nothing. But you have to brag. IMO you play in these tournaments for the money and do the perfect aim, only for the money. By the way, your perfect aim blog, tournament blog, and health blog don't belong on the main forum. Johnnyt

Johnnyt, I like Gene as you already know.

I have to agree with Gene, you are practically becoming a stalker, following him around and posting in his threads just to get a rise out of him.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. I think I remember you bragging about robbing painters, landscapers, delivery people on your home table and also bragging about beating a lot of people for their money, in pool rooms over a period of decades, who couldn't play pool as well as you did? Talk about clubbing baby seals...

GODDAMN I love seeing a bunch of old guys playing a game of "He's touching me", "No I'm not......", complete with one waving their finger in the others face.....

It must be true, that when you get past a certain age, people seem to regress to childhood.:thumbup:

Tired from the long drive and lesson yesterday....

I still went to Shooters for the handicap tourney.

Like I said before it is really tough to win because the handicapping is almost favoring the poorer player which I don't mind because it really makes you focus good.

Having said that I ran into a nightmare match.

I doesn't really matter what this persons name is but how this all went down.

This player drinks quite a bit. Has had trouble getting through the tournament because of it. But he can drink allot before getting drunk. I noticed last night that he was taking it kind of easy. I know this will be trouble for me because his handicap when he plays me is the 7,8, wild and the break. That's his drunk handicap. Now he's trying to stay fairly sober.

I finally play him and he wins the first game. Then we're playing the second game and I have to kick at a ball. The 6 and 7 ball are off to my side and I have to shoot hard so I just barely got to look at the hit which sometimes doesn't tell the whole story. It was just like a glance at the last second.

He called a foul right away and I said it seemed to look pretty good to me but go ahead, take ball in hand, I couldn't really see it that good.

After mumbling out a few things under his breath he shot the 6 and then the 7 to win the game.

We're on another game and he missed a fairly easy shot. Jumped up, twisted, you name it, he just missed. He shouts out that I moved my finger?

He actually told me F--- Y-- once. This was way out of line. But I guess it all goes with the drinking.

Then he pulled out all the stoppers. I see him doing this to many of the players. When his opponent shoots a shot he almost falls out of the chair twisting as the cue ball is hitting the object ball like he doesn't think it looks like it is going to go.

This creates anxiety for the player that is shooting even though it is after the shot. Now he is definitely in the head of his opponent. He needs to stay s

I shoot a shot that was fairly easy using a bridge. He twisted in the chair and almost fell out. After looking at that I got up and hung the 8 ball on a fairly easy shot.

He wins hill hill.

It turned out OK though. There was a young man in there with his father. 10 years old. Plays pretty good for 10. Took Nick to the hill in the tournament.

I worked with brother last week. I think he is 14.

The 10 year old was kind of hard to show but after about 15 minutes he said, I see what you mean. It makes it easier to see it right.

He was right eye dominant and was having trouble cutting to the left. But I had to show him first that he had the trouble. Everyone that is right eye dominant has more trouble to the left and this 10 year old was no exception.

Then dad came over and his son was telling him how I helped.

I get dad on the table and showed him the same thing. His son knew already which way dad was going to have trouble. When dad started missing the ball to the right his son already knew why.

Needless to say, Dad is going to call me and I'm going to their home to do a full lesson for all 3. We'll make a day of it. The kids are Free as usual but dad has to pay for his lesson. It's only $200. For what they will all learn it's quite the bargain and Dad knows this from what he has already seen.

This is why the mini lessons are so important with this. Because it's hard to imagine that you can't just see this with your own eyes without being coached. But once you do you know it is the real deal and will help so much with you aim.

The there was a guy taking videos of some games with his phone on Monday night. His name is Nick. Real nice guy and the type of guy we want in our pool world for sure. He was there again and saw me working with the kids. He approached me and asked me how it worked. So I gave him a mini lesson and we set up an 11:00 AM lesson at Shooter on Sunday.

This is going to be fun. This guy has some real skills already. The results will be huge.

Then another guy came up to me. He is friends with another player that I gave a lesson to, Lance Blackdeer. Lance is Native American and live by Black River Falls. Since our lesson 2 years ago he has become one of my favorite players.

One of his friends was in the tourney. I'm giving him a lesson on Thursday night at Shooters. He's going to call me as soon as he gets off work.

Many times when I'm playing in these tournys I miss out on opportunities to help players with their games, but on the other hand if I'm not out there playing and showing what this can do for anyone, even if you are 62, I'm out of sight and mind.

Some players get tired of what I keep saying about how well this works but I can guarantee it isn't someone that I taught. It comes from players that don't have a clue how this works.

I feel like the preacher that keeps giving the same sermon over and over. And finally the congregation has a meeting to tell him that they are tired of him giving the same sermon over and over.

After being confronted at the meeting he says to all of them: That's right, I'm going to keep giving the same sermon over and over until I start seeing all of you practicing a little of what I teach.

Perfect Aim is just the way the eyes work. I didn't invent it. I just figured it out.

Many of the aiming things out there are like inventions. You got to do this and that and stand on your head and whistle.

Once a player sees and understands how this works they know it is the real deal.

I got a 15 year old player that I have worked with that just won the BCA 10 ball thing is Vegas. How does that happen?

He works hard at the game and he has some pretty special knowledge.

The results from Perfect Aim are all over the country.

Am I getting rich doing this? No.

Do I care? NO.

I'm having a blast showing this to players and helping them play to the best of their ability.

Manually knowing how to keep the eyes right gives them this ability.

So for the people and players that don't know how this works, your going to just have to keep complaining until maybe you learn this and realize how much egg you got on your face.

But just like the preacher that knows he had it right.

I know I got it right with Perfect Aim.

And I'm just going to keep preaching until I can't go anymore.

I knew I had it right in 2009. I just didn't know the whole story until 2011. I had to learn more myself. But with the help of teaching over 2,000 players I learned more and more until I got the whole story.

And for the price I teach it it's pretty much like a gift.

My gift to the pool world.

You cannot even put a price on this knowledge.

PERIOD....................................................

I'm from the twin cities and I see geno every now and then. I'll say this...says nice things to opponents when he wins...blames everything on opponents that made him lose. What do you expect...grumpy old man...but doesn't bother me none. Bothers other people so all the he said...she said, both got some points. Overall great person so that over rides everything...just don't beat him in a match...you'll catch a grumpy side...😝

What I really mean to say is...he's a real competitive person and plays to win so he gets a little edgie when he loses...over all great person and always reaching out to help people.

Hahah Gene can be a grumpy old man and so can I at 46... Calling someone out like you did is fine because of the reason you did it in that it's something many of us can work on, myself included....I would hazard a guess that Gene will agree... It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye then it had to be someone else at fault.. It's easier to try and externalize the losses than internalize and it's soooo much quicker...

Gene is one of my favorite people to see on the road because he is always passionate about the game and teaching... He is also always learning and is a huge fan of that as well... Always a pleasure to have a good back and forth session of "Hey! Check this out!!" with him........

May all your racks be tight!!!

Tom and Joes in Menomonie, Wi

Scott Dulian is running a tourney tomorrow.

Gonna be some tough competition there also.

10 ball. $30 entry limited to 20 players.

They got some pretty sweet diamond bar boxes there. Pro cut.

It don't get any better than this.

Oh Chris, Those KiTech tips just keep getting it done. The medium I put on about 8 months ago is so thin it doesn't look like there is a tip on my cue but it just keeps getting it done.

Thanks again...........
