Once again, buyers beware...this sale was a ripoff attempt!!

now that i've got more info from Mark Griffin - tell me again WHERE is JERRY? Wisconsin, right? cause my Chicago rep is in WI/MN this week. and my other rep lives in WI....since we're talking furniture/antiques.

i haven't called, bid, emailed yet - cause i've got people nationwide & into Canada - still trying to figure out the Perfect Aim....since Jerry's reading this.

i'm a little more involved than normally.

Wendy

Straight from Jerry's ebay add, the same one he used to sell Wendyb the GC3 she didn't get, but got a Frankenstien GC instead, and from the ebay add he's still running today, collecting sales orders for the next delivery run May 6-15th.

This table has been in use at my pool hall for several years and considered the greatest innovation in commercial grade tables ever developed. Been the pool hall favorite and college game rooms too for 50 years. This is a GC3. Still plays like new, has recent new cushions and can be put right to work with maybe some new cloth, although this can still be used for quite a while yet. Closed my pool hall so I selling a lot of tables, cue racks, BILLIARDS neon sign along with most of the bar equipment. More listings to come. Building is sold and new owners want it for a different purpose. Not asking much for this table. Come and get it or I may be able to deliver if not too far from Duluth. Listing says delivery $200 but it may be more or less depending on logistics.

Key wording in that description is "has recent new cushions"...LOL

The word is out on you. Same story over and over. You are a crook. Cheating nice people like Wendy out of money for Artemis rails and other needless expenditures is illegal. I know your story.

Still interested in being "ripped off" by you if you are ever able to make it up to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have a Gold Crown that needs some needless expenditures and stuff.

Well, now that I've got the frame bolted to the legs, I can get on with the rest of this job. Removed the slate backing so I could build a new cross member system which supports the wedge leveling system, so the slates can be leveled at any time without ever having to take the table a part.

Here's the begining of this transformation,

Frame & leveling system (6).JPG

I have the slates laid out on my leveling boards, up on stands so I can get all around the slate and under it as well. What I'm doing here is building the 3/4" plywood framing that'll be transfered to the frame of the table once I've built in the leveling system, matched up all the bolt holes, and put in the cavities so the steel plate system will set down inside the plywood framing and not obstruct the slates from sitting flat on the plywood framing. I've got all the pocket plates cut out already, as well as the plates between the pockets, that the rails bold through which is what holds the slate in place so it can't move, seeings how I won''t be using the slate screws to screw the slate to the frame anymore.

have her call me if we need to tag-team....
;)

(ooohh! wouldn't THAT just $@#% them up from West AND East coasts?!?! might....just have found my angle, Glen!!!!)

The dumber they are, the harder they are to confuse, as they're ALWAYS confused...JERRY!:D

don't confuse me w/ the FACTS.

it's obvious, that you don't know what you're going, RKC.

I think this time, for once, I'm going to walk everyone through the whole process of converting a Diamond or GC to the newest upgraded leveling system, as well as rebuilt rail system with Artemis cushions, and 4 1/2" corner pockets, 5" sides....that way everyone can see how much work actually goes into this kind of job. Overall, it's for the most part, cheaper to buy a Diamond than it is to go out, buy a used GC, then turn around and wait on me to show up and charge another $2,000 for what I do to the table;)

Stick to what your doing......you want to steel joint something go right ahead......but don't start putting rail work on the step by step....this is what I do here and so on.
You've done enough showing guys that can't do it right now......and now you want to show everyone on AZ...what you started when you met me.....don't do it.

Stick to the shit you do....and leave well enough a lone.

The deal was accepted based on false information provided by the seller. Regardless, expenses were also incurred mitigating the damages. Slam dunk.

It doesn't matter....The buyer knew what they received was not what they thought they were buying YET decided to modify the parts they received... That constitutes acceptance of the deal... At the time it was known of an indiscretion/ discrepancy, the buyer should have asked for a refund. If the refund was denied by the seller than the buyer has to file a claim... The ONLY way the buyer is not liable is if they can prove the item they received had a "time table" for its use and another could not be purchased in time for the scheduled event.... I don't condone that actions of the seller and I hope the seller makes good in some way.... Looks like the table will come out nice though....

ok, now THIS, i can comment on. SAME as furniture nowadays (thanks to CHINA!). 20yrs ago, you dropped $2000 on a hand-made, in the USA, top-notch sofa. it's lasted you 20yrs - cause it was QUALITY. but the fabric/leather has finally given-out. frame is still perfect. it will cost MORE, to RECOVER - than to replace @ $500 @ Rooms To Go.

AND

Glen, initially, i thought: cool idea! but then i thought - OMG, you're going to give your secrets of ace craftmanship, which you charge $XXX/hr, for FREE?

i agree w/ the other poster. we all here, believe you; you don't have to convince us. document for your client & court. keep your trade secrets to yourself - cause someone (from China!), will knock you off in a heartbeat!

Don't worry Mark, I'm not going to be giving away any trade secrets about rebuilding rails, or anything else for that matter, only the finished parts as they get finished:grin:

The problem is, Wendy HAS contacted the seller, even asked for the right rails "GC3 rails, instead of GC2 rails" so they'd bolt up to the rail skirts correctly....her request was denied because "any table mechanic worth a damn" could "Improvise" the situation and make them work! Then, when she asked for the leg stretcher that was missing, after having to listen to the SELLER tell her all about how Brunswick GC's don't need them, they're just there for looks and all that BS....he finally gave in and sent a stretcher...the WRONG one! When Wendy called the seller on that screw up as well, the SELLER then once again, informed Wendy that "any table mechanic worth a damn" could improvise that as well....wrong answer!!!

Now, Wendy has a choice, she can go through all the BS of trying to get her money back by having the SELLER come and pick up this pile of parts and returning her money....but, we live in the real world and guys like this SELLER is NOT only going to refuse to refund her money and refuse to pick up this pile of parts, he's ALSO going to deny doing ANY wrong....so, where does that leave Wendy? All she wanted was a GC3...the one pictured on ebay for sale...the one she THOUGHT she was going to be recieving after she bought the ONLY one listed on EBAY by this seller. Yeah, she could draw this out with the seller over the next 2-3 years to try and get the seller to make things right....but everyday she'd have to look at this pile of shit sitting in the room where she had HOPED to be playing pool...at home. The SELLER knows exactly what he's doing, and KNOWS there's almost no chance of any of this BS coming back on him because it's just not WORTH the effort for about 99% of the people he'd screw over in a sale like this....so, he gets off scott free...with Wendy's money, and I'm quite sure sleeps very well at night....because he just don't care about other people, other than himself.

So, where does that leave Wendy? She already wanted to throw out this pile of shit, and call it a loss, because she was so mad a how the SELLER was treating her, but I talked Wendy into waiting on that idea, and to let me see what I could to to make things right with this pool table. So, rather than take the LONG road to getting a GC3 for Wendy, I decided to go ahead and stick around and turn this pile of parts into a real GC3 that Wendy would enjoy playing pool on for as long as she wanted to play. Wendy and I have been talking about my services when it comes to setting up her pool table, including modifying the rails, installing the Diamond leveling system, and steel plate joining the slates....since LAST year, long before I found out what kind of a mess this pile of parts was....once I actually got to Wendy's house...ready to get started working setting her GC3 up, but when I got here....SUPRISE....SUPRISE!!!!! So, as to not add insult to injury, I'm NOT charging Wendy for anything extra that I didn't already give her a quote on before I arrived....such as making a call to Donny to get a set of GC3 rails sent to Wendy to replace the GC2 rails that don't fit the skirts. I didn;t even charge Wendy to build the leg stretcher...all I want her to be is HAPPY that she bought a Brunswick GC3 that plays wonderfull, and that she enjoys playing pool the rest of her life.

The moral of the story here folks....is BUYER BEWARE, when it comes to buying used GC's off the market, as once you get it, you MAY not be as happy as you were BEFORE you recieved it. There's only a few of us table mechanic's in this country that can really make a GC play right, and even less that can do that on location.

I can say this for sure, I've seen way less problems from customers that have bought used Diamond's than I have who've bought used GC's. But, I'm not talking about ALL Diamond's, the older, and I mean OLDER Diamond Professionals had some serious problems with them as well, BUT...they won't have miss matched parts, that's for damn sure....but, I may still pass on working on some of them if the job comes up....

Everytime I check this ebay sale http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brunswick-G...4?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c362faf50== there's always 41-42 watchers no matter what time it is and now the delivery is between May 7-13th...so, Jerry keeps backing up the delivery dates...must still be waiting for unsuspecting customers to bid/buy his BS...kind of like trolling for fish, put the hook out there, wait long enough and something will bite.
