one fifteen

No Hijacking, really

Give it up git... your thread has been hijacked by the guys who want
to talk about a version of 8 ball that is even more torture than the
common one.

As for 1 and 15 - I wasn't even for sure it was Rotation. There might
be a game where it is just who(or which partners) make 8 balls first.

PD,

No hijacking intended whatsoever.:):):) I thought that the OP was refering to eight ball. I agree with you that one/fifteen could possibly be cribbage, but wouldn't that mean that the total of both balls pocketed equal 15; such as the 2 and the 13 or the 1 and the 14, etc.

Yes it is - my responce was to irock, who asked about the game

Cribbage

cribbage is a pair of numbered balls which, when added together, total to 15 points. A cribbage only lies where the two partner balls forming the cribbage are each legally made, i.e., where no foul is committed on the same strokes that pocket the balls, or the shot is otherwise deemed illegal. The one exception to pairing is the 15 ball, which itself becomes a cribbage but only once all other object balls of the rack have been pocketed. Thus, not including the 15 ball, the available cribbages are the 1-14, 2-13, 3-12, 4-11, 5-10, 6-9 and 7-8

Haven't played 8 ball 1-15 side pocket since I was a kid but the way I learned it was first come first serve on which side. Once one player makes his in a side the opponent must make his in the opposite side and you could shoot it in a corner and continue your turn after spotting it. Of course we didn't have BIH at the time so lot's of chickenshit moves were made due to a long list of names on the chalk board for next game. I hated it then and to this day dislike any game that gives the weaker player extra chances to catch up.

anybody remember how this game is played?
i cant remember.
need complete rules please.
i know you have to hit the high ball or the low ball.

This may be what you're looking for. I've played a version of pill pool where the object of the game is to sink the 8 ball. The 8 and 16 pills were "free" pills. The game was played in rotation from 1 up or 15 down.

Each player takes two pills. Your balls must be pocketed before you can shoot at the 8. When shooting at the 8, you must call the ball and pocket. However, if you miss, on your next turn you could go back to shooting rotation until you get position on the 8.

You just have to hit the highest or lowest numbered ball on the table. If the 1,2,4 and 14 went in on the break, you have the option of shooting the 3 or the 15. You can alternate between the highest and lowest. For example, you could shoot the 3, 5, 15, 6, 13 etc in the scenario above.

You can give weight by adjusting the number of pills taken according to the skill level.

hope this helps.

the old timers used to play a partners game called 1-9. it was 15 ball rotation where the person who made the one and the person who made the 9 would be partners. if you made both then it was you against 3. 61 points won .25 from losers. (was a couple years ago ;))
