Announcing a bid for trophy making.

With the 1-pocket awards coming up this year, trophies are needed for the following categories:

7 trophies for this year's 1-game winners.

2 trophies for this year's quickest shot awards, for those who took a shot in fewer than 3 minutes. One will have to be delivered to the hospital where the shot-taker is recovering from friction burns on his hands.

1 trophy for the funniest billiard site thread in the history of 1-Pocket.


Bids may be submitted to the 1-Pocket association (via snail mail, only) one week before the presentation. (why hurry, after, you have a whole week to make 'em) Payment for trophy work will be expedited via donkey trail from the mountain where coffee is grown (that is the richest kind).

One pocket is so slow....

Tramp Steamer played a great shot...sent three balls near his hole....
...and left his opponent welded to a ball.....
...then Tramp had a health problem....took some time off....
...consulted many world-famous doctors....
...got cured....
...then got into a scuffle in a bar....claimed he called that 8-ball off five rails with two kisses
in the side ....broke his wrist when he back-handed his 280 pound opponent...
....named Bubba...
...finally got the cast off and went back to the pool hall.....
...and the one-hole player was still trying to find a way outta the trap.

You wanna talk slow....I know this is a 2010 thread, but go to a pro golf tournament and wait and wait. Love it on TV, despise it live. I can see over Any Crowd at Any putting surface, it's just if/when there's ANY thunder in the air....the wait is even longer than long.:thumbup:
 
Yes it is...

It is so slow I would almost rather watch golf or bowling. The only thing that would make it slower is if Johnny Archer was the #1 One pocket player. But, at least the table would be clean.
 
I think I said this earlier however one pocket is so slow it moves like a snail with air brakes.

If this thread was playing one pocket. .....it would earn the nickname "bumpy".


I can watch a thousand nine-ball games and not see a new shot or position route.

I can watch 1 game of onepocket and learn somthing....regardless of the players skill level.

Now you tell me , what takes longer?

So I'm playing in a nineball tournament in Jersey a few weeks ago and get hungry. As I walk up to place the order the counterman/cook steps out to a table with his cue, he's in the middle of a game. I say no problem I can wait until the game is over...I turn and look and they're playing one pocket.
Glad I had a Snickers bar......
 
The TD can probably take the entry fees from a 1 pocket tournament deposit them into a savings account and double the payout by the time a winner emerges. Has this ever been suggested before? The increased payout may draw many more players and they may be able triple the winners share for 1 low entry.

....the guy he sat beside who gave him excellent commentary was named....
