Ok guys here is my side of the sorry.
Since Jim wants to make this an open topic even thought I told him this is between him and me. I did no trashing, I have learned on this forum it just blows up quickly. Like I said no trashing just the truth from me, I am allowed to tell my side.
I contacted Jim about making me a cue out of a Bear blank. We discussed the particulars. I wanted to use a OB classic shaft partial for the shaft. I told him I could get one for $138 shipped, he told me he couldnt beat that price. I still have that pm. $450 for the cue shipped. Then we discussed about a jump cue and all the particulars, $120 shipped for that.
I received the cue yesterday and the cue wasn't what I ordered Here are the problems I noticed with it:
-joint collar on the ob shaft is missing some finish
-I asked for a wizard hard tip on the ob shaft, a wizard med. was put on. I play with a wizard hard only for the past 5 years
- the jump handle is way too long, I needed an 11 to 12 inch handle as it wont fit in my lower pouch of my case and jump cue was suppose to 41 inches of total length either 29 inch shaft-12 inch handle or 30 inch shaft-11 inch handle
-jump shaft was suppose to fit on the playing cue as well as the jump handle, it doesn't
-samsara tip on the jump handle has not been shaped, asked for a nickel shape to flatter. The samsara logo is still on the top, it don't hold chalk because of no shaping. I have no tip tool to shape that tip and no repair guy any closer than six hours from me
-glue residue on the ringwork on the jump handle under the finish
-the pin on the jump cue end looks to have been filed with a grinder, ?
-a ridge in the finish in the playing cue buttsleeve. Looks like a small crack that was attempted to be filled. I am guessing because of the wood type. There are 2
finishing dings in the finish as well in the buttsleeve
-In the juma butt cap there is a ring of bubbles under the finish
Jim told me if he knew I was going to nit pick the cue because he doesnt make a $2000 cue, he would have fixed the issues before he shipped to me. I have that in a pm.
So I go and pick it up from my Minnesota address, go thru the border, pay $225 duty on the item open it up at home and notice these issues.
So if he knew about these issues before he shipped then why ship me a cue that is less then his best product? Did he think I was going to be happy with a cue in 85 percent condition and not in brand new condition.
Jim offered me a full refund, much appreciated. I want my money back before I ship back. I cant believe he would ship this to me in this condition, it is a brand new cue.
When you buy a cue will a cuemaker send the cue before they pay for it? It works both ways now.
If anyone would like the cue and jump cue, it is forsale
