who do u like with these 2 matched up playing 14.1. I'm sure danny wouldn't make this a short race, so I'm assuming it will be a 200 point game, atleast. I'm thinking danny can't lose and is bringing home the cheese.

Also, stay tuned. We may get to see a world champ who doesn't gamble, in action very soon.

It's always a good idea to not bet against a filipino. Especially who many consider the best money player in the world.

Are they playing today or is this just a match up question? If they are playing, where will this take place?

In a longer race, I have to give it to Danny. They should play to at least 250.

Wow. Tough match to handicap. Barouty has the edge in 14.1 knowledge and experience. Orcullo is considered the best gambler on the planet by many right now, and, while 14.1 is not his best game, he came fifth at the recently held World 14.1Championships (against me, he ran 68 and then 32 for a two inning win) and he posted the fourth highest run of the tournament with a 117.

Danny, from the classical school of 14.1, can take down anyone, as he showed in his win over Hohmann in the World 14.1 championships.

Should be a hell of a match.
 
Hohmann gonna play Dennis too for some money? (You said a world champ that doesn't gamble will soon be in action)

....I like Sir Orcullo in a drubbing. All Dennis needed was the little warmup in New Jersey. He is good to go now...in a cakewalk.

....If they have to play with a hat and coat on, I will switch my wager in a heartbeat.

....In all seriousness, the lack of a dress code favors Sir Barouty..

so the game is on Barouty's terms since its 14.1. I wonder what kind of spots in some rotation game Dennis tried to give Barouty beforehand. Win or lose Dennis is going to get even more dangerous now thats he's getting more exposure in different games. Somebody pls. keep us posted with the results. Thank you.
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Dennis beat Barouty in last year's World Straight Pool during the group stages, and also beat Barouty this year in the first round of the knock-out stages (200-56).

So history shows that Dennis has the edge on this match-up.
 
If the world champion who doesn't gamble plays anyone straight-pool, Filipino or otherwise, I like his end of it.

I've been beat two matches against people that I'd swim a river of s**t to gamble with (some of them live right here in Phoenix!). :D While you might be right that Dennis has the edge (or you might be wrong. I honestly don't know.), I wouldn't use 2 tournament wins as proof.
 
Okay, here's the way I handicap this match. Danny is a very good 14.1 player, but not a great one. Dennis is relatively new to 14.1, but a great pool player.

If they play long enough (enough games), Dennis wins the cheese because he is a better pool player. So I will bet on Dennis, up to $100 a game, with any regular on here that I know and trust. We must make our bet by Noon PST, and our bet must be by the game and not the match. So if they play four games, we have a bet on all of them. If they play ten games, we still have a bet on every game. Got it?

Who wants action? Minimum bet $20 a game. Remember I lost $1,000 on here last time I bet on Dennis, so I've proved that I'm not such a good handicapper anymore. Step right up, don't be shy.
 
i think dennis wins.

i love barouty's 14.1,,,it is classic, BUT HE WILL MISS, and that's the end of the story when you play against a high level player like orcullo.

I dunno Jay...Orcullo won the last 2 times they played 14.1.

Maybe you should offer a different line like you did with Yang/Orcullo.
