Orcullo vs. Frost- Live Reports

Novice 1p player here, rarely play but enjoy watching.

What exactly is a wedge?

Is it when you push balls up table in clusters?

I didn't see it but it but there's no doubt that's strong. Five zip outta the gate to an orcollo is some serious biz. You gotta be a champ and wantin it bad to play some pool like that against a player like orcollo.

Love reading the posts on page one from the experts.

It got awfully quiet in the chat room when Scott came back. Each game Dennis won the chat got tougher and the bandwagon was rolling until Frost got a little comfortable. Good match and I applaud both players. It is far from over and can go either way. This is gambling in a pretty even match I feel with all the action going both ways on it.

So interesting, they've both dominated different parts of the set. It'll be interesting to see who adjusts better to the other's game tomorrow after a night of thought. Stuff like this is really what pool is meant to be as far as I'm concerned. I'll take this over all the best tournament races to five in the history of the game. I hope the writing goes up on the wall: "long races are where it's at for pool".

What a match

I agree; this is a great match. I was among those who began to doubt Frost's chances when it was 5-0 Orcullo..........Frost has got to have gained a lot of confidence through his comeback to lead at 10-8......nevertheless, you know you can never count a Filipino pool player out.....Many Thanks to Fast Lenny for making this a free streaming event......I think it may be destined to be one of the best ever....

This is the first time ever that I've stayed awake to watch a whole session of one pocket. Incredible shooting by both players, they literally make one-pocket watchable.

Yeah, a paid stream would be the solution. I'll take the commercials. :D

Fast Lenny is a man of vision.
Free stream can catch a large audience...bring on the commercials.

Make pool great again

I agree, it's great when it's free. Thanks Lenny. I appreciate it.

Christ amighty, is One Pocket slow, or what? It took three hours to play the first four games. That's...uh, let's see...uh...three divided by...uh...carry the two...uh...subtract eight minutes for a smoke. Wow, three hours to play four games.

I've gotta go. I have this overwhelming urge to run to the store and get some diapers. :)

What I observed happen was that Scott started out playing the strategy of old-school 1-pocket to play defensively and to try to keep Dennis off the shot, like he indicated in his pre-match interview.

Scott then found out that Dennis can also move pretty good and that he couldn't get to the first shot before Dennis playing like that.

After being down 5-0, Scott then played his typical power 1-pocket, and he started getting in stroke and winning.

Dennis' shotmaking started to falter later in the day, probably due to the increasing pressure as the day went on.

Overall, great match. It appears to me that if Scott plays his normal, aggresive style, he has the best chance to win.
