Order Processing from Distributors Practices Need Looked At

Ok I really hate to B*tch & Moan about things however it seems some of our distributors need to re evaluate thier order process. I sell retail and if I tied up a customers money they would be ticked. One distributor in particular I place a $300.00 order they run it and it shows pending then a week later they rerun the entire order with shipping as expected but apparently with different authorization number so it tied up and additional $300 until the other charge drops. They simply could run a order 1 time or use the same auth number. This is piss poor customer service. I can tolerate delays in shipping but when a $300 order temporaly doubles and ties additional money up it can put you in a bind if you need to use it elsewhere. I am aware one charge will drop but this is unecessary and you would think the company would look out for thier customers. Just an observation. Anyway happy cue building :D

So, why do you still buy from him?
Not trying to be a smarta$$ here - but AFAIK
he is the only person on the planet who
uses the 'biz process' in question.

Does he carry something you CAN'T get
anyplace else?

This is the first time I got hosed. Most the time he waited so long to ship the initial charge fell of before he reprocessed so it did not catch my attention. I just went and looked up the other orders.
Apparently he is above a lot of regulations like shipping checmical with absolutely no label telling whats in the 5 gal can I knew but I thought if chemicals were shipped they had to be clearly labeled.

I wonder if he does that to cover refunds or cancellations.
I could only imagine some people sending their "baseball bat" shaft blanks back.
His Ebay auctions are almost always "private".

are you guys talking about cuecomponents? I don't understand why you don't just mention it so that anyone else who does not know will be protected from this seller.

Can't your card company do something about this ? I'd think that Visa or Mastercard would not appreciate that behaviour either, but I'm guessing.

This is why you should do a bit of research on suppliers.
Their practices and policies are always exposed.
Try to deal with people that are honest, and willing to deal with you in a professional, courteous manner. Especially if they charge a PREMIUM for their products.

I was buying ivory this go round I dont use them for alot I could of contacted Warther Museum or some one else. Oh well... A lesson learned I am glad I did not absolutely need the funds that are temp frozen. They do have decent deals on some items especially in thier flyer they email.

Try www.boonetrading.com.

the sad thing is joe knows everyone hates this. Last time this conversation came up he pmed me. I ordered like 60$ worth of product that costed me another 70$ in bounced checks. All I needed was a letter. He refused. So 70$ costed him thousands. He knows and chooses to do nothing therefore he gets what he deserves.

I would have canceled the order, I am not at all tolerant of this type of behavior.

This situation was resolved today by Joe. He contacted me and fully worked this out for ME I am happy.
That's good to hear, it's alot better than what Atlas did for me when the same thing happened, they just gave a lame sounding, 'well, the other charge will drop off, and it's just the way it happens when using a debit card' It happened twice now with Atlas. If you are using a debit card it seems to F*** up the process somehow. I haven't had a problem with Joe or his way of doing things.

Folks -

I run a wholesale distribution company (nothing pool or billiard related) and was in charge of setting up our credit card/debt card processing system to intergrate with our accounting system that the sales team used. When researching the companies and methods used for processing the "person" setting up the system has plenty of options of how to handle the whole authorization & capturing of a customer's funds. Before going live with the system I ran 2 weeks worth of tests on the company credit card and my personal debit card to benchmark how long every aspect of the credit card/debit card processing took at the different settings. Here is what I learned from the process in dealing with our merchant broker. Generally you can set for an authorization to drop in 1 day, 3 days and up to a week out after the card has been checked. In most cases for us a card that has been authorized after 5pm EST will drop not the next day but the day following if the settings are to 1 day. If the card is authorized before 5pm EST the authorization will drop at the 24 hour mark of the following day. If you capture the authorization the same day your card will show a double charge until the authorization drops. Here it gets a little weird. Some cards the authorization will drop the day that the capture batches and other cards will not drop the authorization until the predetermined time set with the initial authorizaion expires.

As far as double authorizing an order just to add shipping there is no need to. During the capturing process the software is set up to allow you to add shipping & frieght charges to the initial authorization to keep you from double dipping in your customers account.

The logical fix to this problem is to simply change the authorization settings on the terminal or computer that is running the c/card processing software and you eliminate about 98% of double authorization issues.

Hope this helps.
