Interesting question here. What if Ernesto has to play Oscar.

It could happen in Spain at the Predator 10-ball event.

Wonder what takes over. Skill, emotions, prizes, or who has the best chance !

Could happen at a tournment(perhaps it has), and right now I like Oscar by a hair, But Ernesto has so much experience and heart that he might win too. Probably who is just having a better day is the winner.

so I dont know who wins.

WHAT I DO KNOW IS THEY BOTH HAVE SO MUCH HEART, NEITHER OF THEM WILL PLAY SOFT NO MATTER WHAT OR WHO THET ARE PLAYING. OSCAR WOULNDT DISRESPECT HIS DAD BY PLAYING SOFT AND ERNESTO NEVER LETS UP.

They both have so much heart and pride, more so than 99% of the players out there. Neither of them no matter who they are playing get a free pass.

I believe Ernesto has rolled over to Oscar

Not an easy call, only Ernesto knows. Some time back when I don't think Oscar could have beaten Ernesto Ernesto lost to Oscar in a round robin when Ernesto was already in and Oscar was on the bubble. Good strategy there, but a little game playing too I have always suspected. Would Ernesto do the same in a head to head match in a big event? Early in the tournament I have to suspect maybe, head to head in the finals, I doubt it.

Ernesto does know his best days are behind him, Oscar's almost surely still to come. I do think that makes Ernesto a little less willing to knock Oscar out of big events.

Frankly, I don't think either of them would throw a match in any event. If they play "one handed" I'd have to pick Ernesto. I saw him play the greatest "one handed" match against a Canadian champ, in 1985 at the "Last Call For 9-Ball" , Resorts Atlantic City tourney I'd ever seen! Oscar probably has a slight edge now, as someone else mentioned "youth" can be a factor. I could see them doing a "saver" and playing all out to win, which is perfectly fine, even if the prudes in this forum who have never lived on pool earnings will tell you differently but there would be no dumping.

just more hot air!

Ernesto hasn't truly been in stroke for many years. He was one hell of a player and has the heart of a lion. It would be fun to see Ernesto take a little time, get in stroke, and play tournaments for a few years - but I don't think that's going to happen.

I don't know who would win but I know they both have kicked my butt too many times.

I voted for Ernesto to win !
Figuring they will play and not dump to each other but prolly allready road partners. So I just think some way Ernesto rises to the occasion and Oscar struggles with his emotions of playing his father.

So far they refuse to play each other in tournaments. When they have met in the brackets, one has forfeited to the other (usually Ernesto). I don't like it and have told them so, but that's how it is.
