Just a quick FYI for people before this gets buried.

With the # of users still overbumping threads, I am not warning people any more. If you overbump, the thread is gone. I don't care if you posted 47 hours and 58 minutes ago. If you bump it sooner than 48 hours, it is gone.

With the automated overbump page, it is pretty easy to find these posts.

I have a question I only use cell phone app. And when I first bump it will give me how many hours ago I bumped it. For example I bump today at 10 am at 1pm it will say 3hrs ago. But when the day ends after 12 pm that night it just says yesterday. And then following day it will just say date I bumped it.
Example if I post now at 10 am all day today it will tell me how many hours ago I posted but after that it just says yesterday and following day will just say date do I have to write down what time I posted each post just want make sure not breaking rules. I know I only bump every 2 days but down to exact hours a minute is hard for me to determine

Just look at your thread in the Wanted/ For Sale section. It shows the time of your last post.GL Ronnie.

Not on my cell app example when I look at my mottey on cell app it says 17hrs ago. When I look at my Kikel it just says yesterday. And my phillipi is due to bump today it just says 4-6-14 but no time on either. So all I know is I bumped Kikel sometime yesterday and phillipi sometime day before but I have no idea what time of day I bumped either of them. This may be cause of few over bumps from members that don't know they are bumping few hours early. I just want make sure cause like I said I only use cell app so if thread gets deleted its a little bit of pain in butt retyping whole listing on cell phone keyboard. I haven't had any threads deleted I just trying to insure it stays that way so any help would be appreciated

The new system does not allow a bump before 48hrs.. at least it doesn't on my computer.... I assumed everyone elses did the same..

I think if someone else's ID bumps it before the 48hrs are up, then that feature is negated. So it only works if your post is the last one in your thread. Or at least that's how it appears. Definitely an improvement though.

Mike,

I'm sure there is the functionality to not allow any replies for 48 hours just like the OP cannot post within the 48 hours. That would seem to be the simplest solution.

If you are in the tapatalk app that only tells you the date and not the time, you can click the 3 dots at the top right of the screen and then click web view and you can see what time you posted.

This is true. Once someone posts in your thread then the OP can respond, but it nobody posts then the 48hr. Rule works.

Better set you alarm on your phone calendar. Mike sounds serious.

Wait 3 days and you have no issues....by the time 1000 people have looked at
the thread if it didn't sell, either the price is off or it's something no one wants.

Not sure if it works on the phone app,but on my iPad,I can click on a screen name, and then,Find all posts. The time is shown.

Yes I like the new system I went too bump a add I had week or so ago said I had 30 some odd mins left I've seen some new members bumping every hour so that will help out a lot :thumbup:

Are you planning on not allowing other posters to bump a thread by posting on it? If you did that there would no longer be a problem. It's not the original poster's fault if some newbie who doesn't know the rules makes a comment and bumps his thread. Take away the ability for other peoples comments to bump a thread and there is nothing left to worry about.

You mean you have seen OLD members bumping each other a lot with nothing but "Great cue, Great Seller, If I had the money, If I hadn't just ordered my 10th Szamb, GLWS." That is what kills the WFS section.

I don't mind the comments....it's what make the F/S thread more active. If all you did was post the For Sales and reply via PM....it's just another classified ads. I would prefer someone to say...hey..bought something similar and the cue is a killer..etc...to help with the sales. Nothing wrong with that...just mean there a reason for discussion.

It keeps the forum more active in a bad way and that is why the Mods want to cut it down. If they would just find a way to allow conversation within a thread but keep the thread from bumping to the top until 48hrs have elapsed then by all means chat away in the threads. But under the current setup it does nothing but create an environment where everyone is fighting to boost to the top due to conversation pieces.

You might not, but you are one of the ones that have sold cues getting comments.

I put a cue up for sale and within minutes is was 5 pages back, because of a bunch of turds commenting "Beautiful cue, someone should buy it!"

That type of commenting does not belong in the for sale forum.

Just make no sense as I do believe there are positive threads when discussion are made about the products...good or bad. Even if someone is trying beat the drum for one product...I'm sure readers are smart enough to weave through them.

I think the solutions should be to improve the search capability and improve how the new thread can be posted (more categories). Or have one fixed classified style where there no bumping and no comments and another section for those that want to list their item for sales and invite discussion about products that they have for sales. You can learn a lot from the discussion developed in the FS/Wanted sections.
