Thread the bottom of the sleeve ?
After it's dry, face bottom between centers, put rings on then threaded buttplate.

What size is that tenon? Looks bigger than normal .750". Looks like it should hold just fine. Hate it when butt sleeves just fall off :banghead:

7/8.
Bottom of the handle is about 1.180".
.150" or so in the end.

Not that big at all.
I don't like .750 tenons for sleeve anymore.
Just good for the last 2 inches for me now.

I will.
This is going to be a Zylr tribute cue ( I can make one per year ).
Double brass rings with micarta/black phenolic dash ring.

I like the idea but does it limits grain alignment or did you take that into consideration?

Not really. I start with an overlength sleeve.
See the pencil mark on the handle?
I just face off the top of the sleeve until pencil mark on the sleeve lines up with the pencil mark on the handle.

Makes perfect sense to me. Carry on, as you were....
Thanks.
Easy to do on fine threads btw.
You'd laugh at my threader.
Threads tenon and long dowels easily.
Clean 10 TPI glue spirals on coring dowels is a cake with it.
I'm gonna patent it. :D

Hi,

I agree with you Murray, but he did say over killing the butt sleeve.

It is a ten minute labor of love with Joey.

Rick

I'm doing this to all wrapless cues.
Glue line at the bottom of ringless handle scares me. :D
And I can concentrate more when doing E checkered rings or chains b/c I don't have to worry about the sleeve slipping.

At least put my name on your list for every year one cue:thumbup:

How about we do a Harvey Martin modern cue?
Stag collar to brown phenolic strong BEM, black G10 pin and brown elephant ear wrap?
I get to keep it though after you test it.
